So we are absolutely devastated but we have had to cancel our wedding and our honeymoon.
I have been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma (cancer) the only sign I had was a cough that just would not go away. In the space of 7 weeks it spread from my heart to my lungs. I am only 25 and being devastated is an understatement for us.
This year was supposed to be amazing. We were getting married, going to Florida for our honeymoon and buying our first home.
Now I face 8 months of chemotherapy (every 15 days). So far I've had 3 and they have been awful. I think the worst part that makes it real is when all my hair fell out I was growing it for the wedding and it was half way down my back. I look like a cancer patient.
I am keeping every part of me crossed that I will be in remission in November and we can look for somewhere to get married in the new year.
I posted this to guess encourage you to think about the rows you have with people over your weddings (I was one of those people) in the end what does it matter. Have the wedding you want and marry the person you love at the end of the day that's all that matters. This has made me realise how short life is and at any time it can be over. The scary part was being told if they hadn't have started chemo when they did I would have been dead at 25 in 4 weeks as my heart would have failed.
If you ever feel unwell even if you think it's nothing please go get checked. All it takes is a blood test to get you started.
3rd January 2015 I said yes to being your wife
10th September 2016 we will make it official

I'm so sorry to be reading this, my heart really goes out to you.
I really hope that your treatment goes well, and I have every single limb crossed that later in the year you will be posting to tell us how successful it was.
I don't know what else to say but I couldn't read this and not say anything. I really wish you all the luck in the world. xx

I'm really sorry to read of this and your health. My heart also goes out to you and I wish you all the best in your treatment and recovery.
Might not be something you want, but how about doing a quick registry office with a couple of witnesses just so you can get married and then have a bigger party and honeymoon when you are well enough.
Sending you love and hugs,
Our wedding day - 6 October 2012

I'm so sorry to read this. I really hope you recover. I do have a friend who has beaten Hodgkins Lymphoma so it can be done. I hope you go into remission in time to plan your dream wedding, but I agree with the others, don't rule out a small registry office ceremony followed by a huge celebration after your treatment. I'd hate to read that you didn't get the chance to marry because the treatment was prolonged.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I'm so sorry to hear this.. wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery. A friend of a friend has recently been through the exact same experience with Hodgkin's lymphoma and has made a full recovery and is now so happy getting on with her life. The whole experience has made her so much stronger and has made her look at life in a completely different way, so she's now taking and creating opportunities for herself that she never would have before. I have no doubt you'll get through this and be 10 times stronger for it and have your perfect happy ever after!! Wishing you all the best
