Hi, hoping someone can help. I have been invited to the reception of an Indian wedding for an old school friend. Im just wondering how much money is acceptable to give as a gift?

As much as you feel you can afford- be it £20 or £50 or whatever- depends how close you are?

Thank you for your reply. We are old friends who do not see each other very often. I am going with my partner and 2 children so not sure if that makes a difference?

I'm sure they will be grateful for whatever they get. It all mounts up.
To me money doesn't matter, I Would much rather see a person and spend the time with them and be part of my day than worry a about how much money they gave xx

However much you would have spent on the gift. It's what you can afford balanced against how close you are to the couple.
