I've been wracking my brain for decorations for our seaside theme wedding. I had the idea of making sandcastles to dot around the place and my dad has since suggested combining this idea with our centrepieces as I still haven't come to the decision on what to have!
So...has anyone got any ideas how to make them! I was thinking modelling clay and my dad has suggested plaster of Paris I have found the latter on ho88ycraft so I will try that but haven't worked out how to get is looking like a sandcastle!!

I am not artistic at all lol so just throwing a suggestion out there, could you make it then cover in PVA glue and then cover it in sand? xx

Yes plaster of Paris, glue and cover in sand bound work well

What a clever idea for centrepieces, they'll look really fantastic!
At school in the nursery we mix sand and PVA glue together into a sort of gloopy paste and the children use it to make textured pictures, it works very well and you can paint on more layers over time if needed. Will work a treat to paint plaster of Paris.
I'd also recommend lining your bucket/mould with clingfilm before pouring in the PoP to make it easier to take it out when set. Also you could use more sand to scatter around the edges of the sandcastles when they are on the table, so they look like they are made from a 'pile' of sand rather than just sat on the table.
