    Hi everyone,

OH and I have a LO who will be 3 and a half on our wedding, we are considering doing our first dance as a 3 as that is what we are, but then we thought about doing a separate dance with LO.

Also I have a back ground in latin american and ballroom dancing, quite a few people have mentioned they are expecting us to do a choreographed dance however OH does not dance and I feel like it will put pressure on him and take the enjoyment away but at the same time I don't want to be stood there feeling awkward lol.

    What do you all think?

We had a friend who is a dance teacher choreograph something, which gave me more to do than hubby as he was less confident. Maybe you could work something out that shows you off without making your OH step outside of his comfort zone.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Hi Leanne, I think a family first dance sounds great, is your LO musical at all?

I'm sure you could teach OH a simple basic that you could just repeat around the dance floor whilst you do some spot/travelling turns?
I suppose it depends on how easily persuaded to do a routine OH is.

Thats a good idea Elinor. How did you find it? Did it make it more special? I am just worried that OH will be concentrating so hard on the dance, the moment will be lost. Thats why I suggested the 3 of us doing it together. xx

Hi Steph, LO loves to dance but can be shy lol.

OH said he would want a few lessons to see how terrible he was before commiting haha, I just worry the moment will get lost xx

It worked well for us, and looked good. Mostly we did a simple box step with me leading, but there were a few moves for me where OH just had to let me move around him. I think he enjoyed it, even if he was a bit nervous, and I was secure enough to take the lead. Then we had a point at a climax in the song where we ran off and grabbed our parents to join us. We just waltzed round the floor in couples then, as there was no opportunity to practice anything with the parents, and we knew both pairs of parents could waltz. Then on the last phrase we lined up and bowed. Maybe you could start dancing with your new husband and then bring in your LO part way through, it would be a lovely surprise.
