    Hey guys,
Sorry to have a little rant but I think I'm gonna lose it! H2b's best man is his cousin, basically they grew up together and have been best mates ever since 2 years ago best man employed h2b as an apprentice In his company, however last year best man broke up with his wife and has been seeing another girl who doesn't like h2b, best man has been taking days off work to see this girl , leaving h2b not knowing how to do certain things. To cut a long story short he rang last night and told h2b he is sacked because hes done everything on one job wrong and hasn't put the hours in even though he's been working every weekend to save for this wedding. H2b hung up and hasn't spoken to him since but now with only 2 months until the wedding I don't know what the hell we're gonna as we can't not invite him as he's supposed to be best man. Urgh I could cry xx

Aw hun, I feel for you. It's a difficult situation. We had OH's best mate as our son's godson, his new gf doesn't like OH so now he's stopped seeing us and our LO, makes you wonder why you thought so much of them to give them these special roles.

What does your OH say? xx

Aww that's not nice Leanne, all our ushers are all family so it's going to be really awkward as we have his brother in law who also works with them as an usher. OH says he isn't bothered and that he'll have to ask his step dad or someone who already has a suit. But I'm just worried there will be tension on the day. Xx

If he's not going to be best man anymore, I would maybe not invite him, like you said you wouldn't want any tension or awkwardness on your day. Unless you think OH and him will eventually sort things out xx

Find a new best man. He has shown no loyalty to your h2b so you can uninvite him without worrying.

I don't think they will tbh there's a bit more to it and h2b has had enough. I feel a lot better though, it's just tough when it's family

I really don't know what to say. If the friendship is completely over (or at least for the time being as you are so close to the wedding) is there anyone else that OH would like to step up to be best man? They might be really thrilled to be asked. Then again it sounds like a good conversation is needed with the cousin to find out where all this has come from and put your OHs side across. X

I literally don't have a clue, they went skittles together on Friday night and h2b told him what he had done and he was fine. Sunday night we had a phone call to pick him and this girl up drunk from a pub, they made a mess of the car and tried grabbing the steering wheel so h2b took them home and told them off, then Monday he gets that phone call. They're both really stubborn so won't talk to each other and best man sent a bloke around to the house to collect paint brushes and things because he won't face us. I'm getting my haircut by his sister next week so will have a chat with her but I don't know where this has come from. It's really sad they've been mates 34 years, longer than iv been alive! Xx

What the heck? Sounds like the best man is in a bubble at the mo and think you need to let him stay there until it bursts. If it's too late then it will be his loss, not your h2b. Appears to me that best man is finding an excuse and seeing as he's not been around, he's hitting out at the closest person.

It's very difficult. I would certainly have an alternative best man in mind, but maybe don't make any irreversible decisions just yet. It may be that your H2B needs to speak to his cousin about why he worked the way he did, but if the cousin is being influenced by the new girlfriend it may be that they will be more distant for a while.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
