Defiantly look on Pinterest we were looking at getting some lovely ones but have been told the venu will supply some and decided we haven't got the funds for them so going to skip buying unique ones. I do like ones with the name and date engraved in though x

MrsC2bee - our venue is not supplying anything.

My OH makes knives as part of his hobby, including Damascus steel knives, knives for reenactment and general purpose knives. all the knives in my kitchen are made by him and he is such a knife snob. when he comes to the stables with me I have to keep an eye on him as there are normaly a fair few knives around (for opening bales of haylege, shavings, cutting carrots, ropes etc) and he goes round and tests all the knives for sharpness. If they dont meet his standards of sharpness he squirrels them away in the car and takes them home to sharpen! but he then forgets to take them back and we end up with no knives at the yard!

No real theme, just timeless elegance.
Colours are lilac, pearl white and silver.

He is very much of the mind that a sharp knife is safer than a blunt one. With a sharp one you have to apply less pressure on the knife so it is less likely to slip and cut your finger off!

What a great idea to have your h2b make the knife!! It give's it such a lovely personal touch.
We're not having a knife, my h2b is a bricky so we will be having a trowel which will be engraved with something along the lines of: 01.04.11 We started laying the foundations, 16.04.13 We began building our family 31.12.17 we cement our future (the date we met, the date our daughter was born and the date we marry).
I would also suggest p1ntrest for inspiration and maybe do some shopping around to get an idea as to what is readily available and take different aspects from those that you like and put them together as one.

Faye I am so jelly, would love to have a constant supply of sharp knives in the kitchen! Really does make cooking so much easier.

MrsD that is such a lovely idea with the trowel and the words are so sweet!

Haven't really thought at all about cutting the cake (don't even have a cake yet lol) but I do have a sword that my Grandpa gave me wwhich might be fun to use hrmm.

Faye it made me giggle to read that your OH is a knife snob! I am so jealous that you have so many good knives in your kitchen too! :) It is so lovely that your OH is making a cake knife for you, I am sorry I cannot offer any ideas as I havent even looked at cake knives yet!

MrsD2B - I love that you are going to use an engraved trowel! What a great idea to make your wedding more personal to you! :)
