    Hi brides!
I'm getting married 5th November 2016! So fireworks night!
I feel like I have to hire a fireworks display to please my guests!
But my god they are expensive !
    Thoughts on sparklers - cheaper!!!

    Manx

    Xx

To me guests shouldn't expect a display! Sparklers are a nice idea :-)

We got married on 7th November last year, briefly thought about a display until we saw how much it cost! As it turned out there were a couple of displays near our venue so some our (smoking) guests saw those, nobody else said anything about expecting a display at our wedding tho. As for sparklers, you may want to check with your venue as I wanted to get some but the manager at our venue said they didn't really allow them due to fire regulations and insurance xx

Instead of getting a proper display, how about if a guest at the wedding can go aside and set a few off which you can buy from the supermarket?

They certainly should not expect fireworks. Also many venues don't allow them.

I wouldn't expect fireworks. It would be an amazing touch if you did it but its not necessary. A lot of people I know don't really bother with them anymore anyway.

Could you have those indoor sparkler things in the dessert?

You're getting married on my birthday! I definitely don't think guests should expect fireworks. As some of the ladies have said, sparkles are a fab idea and you can also get some fantastic shots using sparklers! Is your venue near anywhere that would do a firework display anyway? If so maybe your guests can just watch from afar :)

    A fellow Scorpio Flossie - mine's the 3 Nov!!!

Have you checked with the venue as some don't even allow fireworks - ours doesn't. Lanterns are a nice touch and in my opinion classier than fireworks, but again you would need to check with venue.

There will be lots of people letting off fireworks anyway so you may be lucky and there is a display nearby and have sparklers outside.

Many venues don't allow fireworks anyway or have strict rules with them e.g my venue will allow fireworks but they must be done prfessionally, as this will cost about £800 for a 5 min display we're trying to come to a compromise atm. I personally prefer sparklers to lanterns the photo's you can get with sparklers are amazing and they pose no risk to local animals/countryside. However I don't think anyone will be expecting a display so it's really down to you and what you want for your big day

Sorry but please please dont use chinese lanterns!
    It is essentially Arson!

I have a good friend who had one of those lanterns land on her horses rug, it set it on fire and the horse died as a result of the burns!
I also know several farmers who have lost hay barns due to them coming down in one! even a slightly smouldering one can set fire to a hay barn!

Depending on where you are getting married I'm sure there will be a lot of fireworks going off around your venue.

I looked into fireworks myself and they are ridiculously expensive. I like your idea of sparklers and maybe you could have some chinese lanterns to release too?

Me too - although ours was literally a date plucked out of the air without any regard for the day. We are both odd like that :)

Our venue has deer in the park lands so wont allow fireworks so we wont be having any but apparently a pub just down the road (the gorunds are 40 acres so not sure what 'down the road' means) has a good display every year so smokers and any guests willing to brave the elements who want to go outside are more than welcome to. I will be out there in the former category.

If you want fireworks, they are expensive enough as it is but on bonfire night I can imagine it being heniously expensive as its peak day for them. Sparklers if allowed at your venue will give the potential to have some really nice shots.
