We are planning on having our cake as dessert during the wedding breakfast.
When would be the best time to cut it without interrupting either the meal or the speeches?

You could cut it after the meal and speeches, whilst the venue are sorting out coffee and tea

You could do your entrance into the reception after everyone has been seated and then cut it straight away. Then you can enjoy the meal and the caterer can take it away while you're eating to cut it up so it can be served as soon as needed. X

    hey Everyone,
kirsty I think your advice is right about cake as dessert at wedding breakfast.... Reception ceremony is best for cutting the cake after wedding when all the guests are present inside the hall.. I think nowadays Buffet dessert tables are becoming increasingly popular. It can create a focal point at your wedding and be a conversation starter amongst your guests and you can easily decorate to match the rest of your decor or theme.
    Thanks
