    Hi All,

Apologies if there is an "official" flowers thread - I did search, but didn't want to resurrect old posts from 2010 and onwards!

I've got a couple of flower consultations tomorrow and another on Saturday. I am looking at the following:

    1x bridal bouquet
    1x top table flower arrangement
    6x button holes
    2x corsages
    2x flower wands
1x wrist corsage for adult bridesmaid

I just wondered how much others were paying for flowers, so I have a rough idea on how much realistically we should be spending. Have had one quote and it was over £900, which I thought was ridiculously steep - I don't know anything about flowers, so am a bit a complete loss!

    Thanks ladies.

I had artificial bouquets, 1 bridal, six bridesmaids and a flowergirl posy for £150. The arrangements at the front of church, button holes (9 for two fathers, two best men and five ushers), and corsages (4 for two mothers, female usher and female witness) were done by a local florist for about £300 if I remember rightly.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I've been quoted £225 for 1 x shower bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids posies, 1 special buttonhole for the groom, 5 normal buttonholes, and 3 ladies corsages. All for real flowers. My florist has said she can only give an estimate right now as it depends how well the flowers have grown for her suppliers nearer the time.

£900 does sound really steep so def get those extra quotes this weekend. Maybe you could consider fake flowers for the top table arrangement if this would help reduce the cost. X

Wow £900!!!! That's sounds very steep. I got fake flowers and accessories so was not even £50. Then had someone make my bouquets. Defo get a few more quotes though before settling. I would imagine you will get them a whole lot cheaper than that quote.

For real flowers including delivery you should be looking at around £500 I think just comparing to what my sister paid for her wedding and we paid for our wedding.

Well just back from the local independent florist and they have quoted me £172 for the above!!! My mum and I nearly fell over and that's with my colour choices and roses, so glad I shopped around!

Definetly good to shop around. It depends on what your looking for I had a large shower and one be hand tied thistles and roses and 7 button holes for £200.

My sister has just ordered her flowers for her wedding and her two be bouquets are gypsiphilia her has another flower in them buttonholes and a centrepiece for £200.

    £900 is ridiculous

    Great price!

We had a friend do our flowers. She did my bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet, little flower basket for my Niece, flowers in 6 fire buckets and millions of jam jars and wine bottles at the venue and 13 (I think!) button holes for £400. I'm sure she undercharged us, but she wouldn't take any more money and assured us it was right!

I have to be honest and say I am paying a small fortune for artifical flowers, almost £600 without my centrepieces but the girl doing my flowers is amazing and I am so happy that I will be able to keep my flowers on display forever xx

£900?? Are they gilded with gold leaf?!?!

We paid just shy of £350 for 2 bridal bouquets, 2 bridesmaid bouquets, 5 usher/Dad buttonholes, 2 Mum corsages and 8 rustic flower centre pieces. Much better and realistic! Anything more than £400-500 and they are taking you for a mug!
