Hey everyone :)

My name is Emma and I've booked to get married on 1st July 2017. So far I've booked my venue (pictures on my profile) which includes food and drink. I've also booked the Registrar for 1.30pm.

Not sure what to do now! Having a good look at some sites and magazines for inspiration but I'm thinking of a rustic/country theme at the moment. Going to a fayre at my venue next month so hopefully get to meet some potential suppliers and maybe book some, hoping some might let me pay in monthly installments to spread the cost.

Has anyone made their own invitations? I love the idea of it but not sure where to start. Plus my creative ideas rarely turn out as imagined!

Hi Emma - welcome :-)

I'm getting married next June and have spent a small fortune on wedding magazines and have managed to get some ideas from there. Still stumped on colour scheme in all honesty, but want OH in a navy suit with maybe dusky pink, but keep seeing all these wonderful colour combinations and changing my mind.

We've paid the deposit for our venue and for our wedding car and have sent the save the date cards out, along with asking the bridesmaid and flowergirls, but that is as far as we have got.

I've spent all afternoon online looking at wedding dresses only to have hopes dashed that the ones I like are stocked miles away!!!

Hi Lindsey, I'm thinking of a dusty blue and blush pink scheme, only problem is there do not seen to be many dresses around in the shade of blue I like :/ I've also bought loads of magazines trying to gain inspiration!

As I'm not getting married until 2017 feel like I have a lot of time to play around with colours and themes, although I'm sure the time will fly!

The amount of things that changed with our wedding was because we had so much time and too many ideas! Dusty blue and blush pink sound beautiful :) We looked at it but didn't visit as it was slightly too far for us but we did look at F0rd3 Abb3y which we provisionally booked to start with!

Ah its a small world :) we looked at 5 venues but decided this one suited us the best, although it is perhaps a bit above our budget tbh!

I've decided to have a go at making my own invites, bought some kraft paper, lace and ribbon. Think I've finally decided on my fonts and wording so just need to have a go at printing and decide how exactly to decorate.
