We've been to visit our venue today and it is very medieval. We want to theme the wedding to the venue without going OTT and have the wedding party in fancy dress! Any ideas? We are going to have the wedding breakfast tables in lines rather than circular to give the feel of a banquet. Lots of candles and fairy lights. A Falconry display too. We're even thinking of seeing if we can find a 'court jester' type entertainer. Can anyone think of anything else?
Also, it will be a summer wedding. Would a red and gold colour scheme still look ok? The room is stone walls with tapestries so that colour scheme will be most in keeping.

Hello LadyC,
You could always go non-traditional and cut the cake with a sword if the venue will allow. Red and gold are good colours for a medieval wedding :) even if the groom/male guests would go as far as ruffle shirts :)

Potentially you can do something with music as well, but only if it suits your tastes.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

red and gold would be lovely. And why not theme all your stationary including invites?

Definitely going to do something with the stationary! Have emailed 2 medieval entertainment companies this morning too about court jesters and stilt walkers.
