    Hi ladies!

Well, I've been quite away cause life has been crazy lol
As some of you know, we are getting married in Brazil (I'm brazilian) this November and we have our church wedding planned for between November/16 and February/17. We had to do this due the legal aspects of the marriage. The thing is, now I'm feeling like I am having two weddings and wondering what people will think about we having the church wedding and the reception over one year after the legal bit. We're not gonna keep it secret, cause we want to wear our rings and for us it just feels wrong to keep a secret out of this.

Is it weird? Has anyone done that? Do you think people will think we are weird? :x

I wouldn't think it was weird at all. If a friend or family member did this, I would think that that's how they want to do it.

It's your day(s) ;) and so you should do what you feel is right, not what you think other people would like x

I went to a church ceremony like this. It was a Ugandan couple who had their legal ceremony in Uganda and a church blessing in the UK where they were living. No one found it strange, although they did confuse us by saying first that they were engaged, and then explaining that the engagement and legal marriage were the same thing. The blessing felt every bit like a real wedding, the only differences were in some of the wording and the fact that they didn't sign a register.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I'm really excited about everything. Thanks for the support, ladies. The vicar that is gonna celebrate the blessing is amazing and I know it's gonna be an amazing moment. Just don't want people judging us about it.

We are getting married in registry office in gibraltar then having church blessing the following week. It is easier for us to do it this way as paperwork for non spanish people is a nightmare. We live in Spain and would have to get all our documents translated into Spanish plus visits to uk embassy x

I don't think it's weird at all and I think it happens a lot more often nowadays then maybe some people realise. It's your day, you have how you want! If people think it's weird then that's just their personal opinion - it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks xx

Agree with everything hear it's your day and if you want to do it then go for it. Think it could be quiet nice and means you can few more relaxed for the blessing as you will have already done it (less nerves more fun)

Yeah. We're celebrating here in Brazil with the ones that won't be able to attend to the blessing. I'm a bit sad cause h2b's parents won't be able to come, but I know it's just because they can't. So, yep, we're getting married in 3 months time \o/
