Hi guys just wondering what everyones doing for entertainment to fill the time up we have about 2 and half hours to fill between food/speeches and the evening guests arriving. I was thinking of having a caricaturist but hubby isn't that keen as we're having a photo booth in evening and thinks we should have something completely different (but refuses to come up with an alternative)... So whats your thoughts? what are you having or what do you think would be good? oh and i really don't like magicians and don't want anything music wise (I'm awkward i know)
TIA

Giant lawn games if they are an option.

Or check out local dance schools like Irish dancing, maybe some barber shop singers?

Like GF we're having lawn games such as giant chess, croquet, quoits and possibly giant jenga but tbh we don't have a huge gap between meal and evening reception as our wedding is starting from 3pm. Another thing we are doing is my makeup artist also does face painting and will be coming back later in the evening to do this for any guests who wish to partake. I am VERY tempted to have something done as well hehe.

Lawn games is good. Alternatively can you delay your wedding breakfast and speeches to later in the afternoon? It's easier to fill time between ceremony and wedding breakfast with photos and general guest mingling.

Not quite the same but we will have some time between the service and the actual reception starting so we are just having a singer in the lobby of the hotel for guests to have a drink and mingle. We will be away getting our photos taken at this time

The time will fly with photos and guests chatting to one another

The time certainly does fly, we had a couple of hours spare between ceremony and reception, I was considering the lawn games but only if it was nice weather, so was planning on organising them last minute. I never did in the end, but really never needed them. The guests mingled and chatted in the sunshine.

I felt we didn't have enough time for mingling. Had 1.5 hours for photos and mingling and receiving line, could have done with an extra hour.

Yep I think mine would have been happy mingling more to be honest.
