I have read several opinions about this..... Some say most definitely as they are there all day however when I spoke to our photographer she says that they come prepared with food but if we do get a no show, then her husband will gladly eat lol x

We asked our photographer about this and he's going to pop home for a couple of hours while we are having the wedding breakfast and then come back in the evening. You don't have to include them but you can discuss it with your photographer and see what they say x

I offered our photographer to join us for the meal however he is happy to go and eat in the restaurant whilst we are sitting down for the wedding breakfast. I have insisted though that we will pay for his meal. x

Some photographers like to eat with you others prefer not to due to awkwardness. I need to ask ours if they expect a meal. But if u don't want to pay for them but agree to feed them you can get them so bathing cheaper even a packed lunch its up to you x

I haven't mentioned it to my photographer however I am quite friendly with her so will say. However in my contract with my videographer it asks if we could please provide a meal in the bar whilst we are having the wedding breakfast. My photographer knows videographer quite well so would imagine she will want to sit with him. I was going to offer the full wedding breakfast but there will b a 2nd with video man so that's 3 extra heads at roughly £50 per head. Don't no whether to offer or not. They would prob say they are happy in bar anyway. But I'm gonna ask my photographer to stay for the evening do and enjoy the party and tell her she can tell her husband to come down

I haven't asked the photographer but he did say the other day while we eat they will go away and leave us to it, I was discussing this with h2b and we have decided to pay for their meal but in the bar area

I haven't found my photographer yet but now I know the options I know to ask them or not. I wouldn't mind so much if it was going to be someone I know but I've done a rough guide to my table plan and wouldn't know where to put them and also like Danielle says it's an extra £50 pp plus what we are already paying the photographer

Danielle could you pay for them to have food off the bar menu? That way it will be cheaper and they will still be fed. I've heard of a lot of people doing this and the photographer ect prefer that as they aren't eating too much that they are stuffed but are being fed. You could ask them what they'll want and put enough behind bad for the food and a drink or pre order it with the venue x

We've included both of them, even though we didn't have to.
They will be with us from morning to night so it felt right to.

Our dj will also be welcome to the evening buffet.

I know some will say that you don't expect to get fed at work, but it's hardly an everyday 9-5 job and I feel if we look after them we may just get a more personal service then if we treat them like they are paid help..,

Yea the videographer asks that we provide a bar meal but as we know them we feel we should offer the full wedding breakfast. But it's 150 on top of what we are paying them. Don't no what to do

If they know the videographer personally I would put the photographers with them otherwise it will keep mounting up as ur feel bad for them so will want them having a meal too ect. Otherwise it will look like favouring one over the other and might make ur feel awkward. Plus £150 a lot of money when your already paying out a lot but its up to you :) go with whatever feels best to you as its ur wedding x

I know people sometimes say ... "They are working all day so you have to provide them with a meal " ..... You have employed them to do a job so tbh I think they should be providing their own food , I have to take mine to work although I thought about going to my head teacher and stating this .... Ahhhh maybe not .

At the end of the day if you WANT to do this its up to you ...it shouldn't be expected

I agree with lala. I work every day, I don't ever get offered lunch. And not to mention, I don't find wedding suppliers to exactly be cheap. They earn enough to bring a sandwich, or to buy their own lunch at the bar. No disrespect to any of our suppliers but the only person getting to eat at the sit-down meal is my cake lady, and that is because she is my bridesmaid. That is all. xx

Our photographer and band have it in their contracts to provide a hot meal but as our caterer will do supplier meals for a tenner a head, we don't think thats too bad. x

    We didn't.
    My sister didn't either.
Most of our friends who are married also didn't.

He was offered a spare meal though because one of our guests dropped out so he had a meal we'd paid for anyway. It was a last minute arrangement which he ate in the bar area whilst the wedding breakfast was happening after he'd taken some photos.

Many photographers don't want a meal and bring their own sarnies with them to eat when they can between taking photos.

I had a meeting with my photographer today and asked him if they would like us to arrange a meal for them to be served in the hotels main restaurant. They said that would be lovely, they normally bring sandwiches but i dont mind arranging this and paying for it as they will be with us from 11am until late at night.

My photographer actually has the meal as part of her contract. It states that she will require to be included in the guest list. I'm not sure how common this is, but I'd check their contracts to be sure. And when in doubt, just ask them. :) I'm asking everyone I'm going to be hiring just to be certain.

That's fine if your budget can accommodate an extra meal. I don't expect my employer to provide my lunch every day.

Ours didn't expect a meal and when I asked him if it was a requirement when we were meeting all potential shortlisted photographers he said he doesn't and didn't think professional ones should. My sister's wedding photographer also didn't expect any meal.

Both hers and mine though did get meals but only because of late drop outs on the guest list and therefore we offered and they accepted. At £114 for my wedding and £80 for my sister's wedding per head its a lot for a meal for a supplier.
