I've just realised that whilst I have been coming up with idea's as to how to make our little girl involved as much as possible in our wedding (she will be a flower girl and ring barer, if she is capable by that point I would like her to do a short reading and we plan to take her to Disney land immediately after the wedding on a minimoon to celebrate us becoming a "family") there is very little I have come up with that reflects my h2b, his likes and the things he does for us. The only thing I have thought of that reflects him is the cake knife, which will actually be a builders trowel (he's a bricky by trade) which I will have engraved.
So I was wondering what others have done to incorporate h2b on their big day so that their wedding reflects the groom as much a the bride? What can I do to make it as much about him as it is about me, our little girl and us as a whole (baring in mind he's not a big decision maker he will leave that to me and just do what is required of him at the time)?

I've run most things by oh to get his opinion, he choose the date as I was getting in a muddle. And he helps out with the little projects we do for the wedding, but he tends to take back seat Most of the time. Just make sure you run ideas last him and see what he wants as different things will be important to them than to us. Like my oh asked for macarons and choc dipped preztels and I want a sweet cart so we are incorporating them together. Also give him options like do you like this or this and see what he thinks x

What about builder related cufflinks? Or a builder themed wedding cake?

We did set the date together and the final venue choice was a joint decision the thing is he's happy as long as I'm happy so just let's me get on with it. I like the idea him and all his groomsmen having builing related cufflinks our colour scheme is black and white tho so im not sure a building themed cake would work?

what about doing a surprise grooms cake ...... his cake doesn't have to fit with a colour theme , you could bring it out in the evening so he has no idea

Can you incorporate any of his hobbies in any way? My Hubby is a rail enthusiast so our reception was at a railway museum, but we love dogs and volunteer for a greyhound walking charity, so our cake had a train and my Mum's dogs on it and the bride had walking boots on and the groom was made up to look like the fat controller. Hubby also wore greyhound cufflinks.

There are a few pictures in my albums if you want to have a look.

It's my oh wants the big day more than I actually do so that's enough lol although I have included him on everything I have booked. He choose the cars also. My friend was going to get her oh some car he would love as a surprise but it turned out too expensive. For the main we are having my fav then his fav and same for dessert. Don't really no how much more I could do

I could surprise him and book him a car that's a great idea, hadn't thought of it as I won't need transport lol. We both like a bit of a gamble for fun so will be having a fun casino but he's also really good at pool and snooker (recently played snooker for the county) I just had a little look because I thought it might be fun to give out mini magic 8 balls as favours but apparently that isn't a real thing and the normal magic 8 balls are about £7 each so just a tad to expensive for 65 people lol.

You could get a cake topper made for the groom to wear a hi-vis vest? Could be something people find quite cute/funny! X

He won't he's happy to let me do everything, I ask his opinion on everything and his general response is do what you like. I did say to him I wanted him to pick suits etc for him and the groomsmen to which he asked why he couldn't just ware the suit he has in his wardrobe!!!

Before you buy cuff links check before you order suits. My husbands suits came with cuff links otherwise I would have bought him some as a gift.

Ahh slightly problematic then. Sorry my OH is the complete opposite to this and has opinions on everything and all my suggestions are stupid. I'm more traditional and he's very modern so for example I would love candelabras as table centre pieces but that's a 100000% no for him as its old fashioned..

Does he have any other hobbies etc other than his work? like does he love comedy. because you could consider hiring a comic for the evening entertainment between breakfast and evening reception (sorry cant remember the layout of your day if you've decided it yet or not)

If he likes snooker, could you use snooker cues as decoration? I'm thinking along the lines of snooker cues crossed behing the top table like you get with swords or spears in posh houses. (Sorry thst might be a really silly idea).
Or each table could be a different snooker ball relating to their value so I think red would be table 1, and so on. X

I think I might try to incorporate snooker cues as decoration some how that's a good idea. As our wedding is on NYE I was going to use clocks as the table numbers x

My h2b chose the colour theme, chose the suit he wants, is picking the flavour of one of the three tiers of cake (one will be traditional fruit cake) one he will choose and one I will choose) he is still deciding who will do a reading when we get married, apart from the 'girlie' parts of the day as he refers to it (like flowers, centrepieces etc) he's had his own personal stamp on it too which I love.

My hubby chose the table centers, most of the cake design, wedding car and suits (with my help). He had a big say in the venue and wedding breakfast menu (actually he chose the main dishes and then I decided to have something completely different for just me and my dad).

You'll be surprised over time how much influence your OH will have over aspects of the day.

I hope he does chose to be more involved as we get closer to the day, I know he's not overly interested atm as he's a last minute man and he thinks we have almost three years so thats ages away. I have spoken to my brother he's going to start asking people he knows about a Ferrari F50 (he knows a guy who is involve in the silverstone auctions where they sell supercars so fingers crossed we can work something out) if we can manage this my bro and his mates will follow him in their cars (mainly bmw's and rally cars) so he will have his own mini cruise!! I'm not telling him this tho it will be one of my surprise wedding presents to him on the day, I know he will love it tho! (and it will make for some great photo opportunities lol)
