Has anyone attempted to make their own flowergirl dresses? I've searched and searched and can't find what I want ( which is frustrating as its just a simple dress!) so am contemplating making my own. I'm not an amazing sewer but have made a few dresses and bits and bobs. My only concern is knowing what fabric to use and what size to make them? Can anyone help me please x

I am sure if you chatted with a haberdashery shop they would be able to help you out regarding fabric. There was one on here ages ago who made her own dresses, but I have not seen her post in a long time

I wouldn't make my own - mainly because I'd have no idea to start! But if you have some experience then why not. I'd probably just take my ideas to a dressmaker and leave a professional to do the work x

I had my mum make my junior bridesmaid, 2 flower girls and my ring cushion.
Together we made our bunting and string ball lights.
I made cards, OOS, table plan and anything else I could!
Pics of the dresses are in my album :)
She used cotton underlay with chiffon over to match my dress :)

Your dresses are lovely Vicki :) I have a dress in my photos that I made for my daughter and it would be something along the line if that but puffier, I'm 50/50 to do it myself or get the alteration person to do them but haven't met him yet so not sure what he can/will do x
You'd be able to add done netting underneath to make it puffier, well done its lovely

That's what I'm thinking. So might research it abit more then do one and see what its like and if its good enough make the other two. Just gotta decide if I have it as satin or tulle and what sizes to make them as its a year so kids will grow abit x
