Hey every one, I put a peom in my day invites saying that we would like money for out honeymoon in stead of presents, do we put the poem in the evening invites too? I think we should but just wanted to know all your opinions on the matter. Xx

We didn't for the evening invitations. I'm not aware of anyone else requesting gifts/money in evening invitations, just for the pleasure of their company

We have recently received an evening invite for a friends wedding and they included a poem saying if we would like to get a gift a contribution to their honeymoon would be appreciated. We weren't offended at all as I would have asked what they would like if one hadn't been included as she is an old school friend. X

We just put the poem in our day invites. A couple of people that are just coming to the evening have asked but we have just said that they are welcome to contribute if they would like to

We didn't mention anything at all about presents in our evening invites, only the day.

My thoughts are, when I get a evening invite I still like to bring a present to it. I was worried about assuming the evening guests will bring a prent. Xx

Maybe you could just put a simple sentence on your evenings invites explaining that any monetary gifts would be much appreciated to go towards your honeymoon... I think the poem would be a bit much for the evening invitations though x

I pinched this from someone as thought it was quite good:
Please do not feel obliged to get us anything; your presence on our wedding day is more important to us both. However, for those who insist on a gift, we would be very grateful for any donations, all of which will be put towards our honeymoon.

We have some little cards with the honeyfund address and reference number for the Lewis list, so we will pop one in each evening invite envelope.

I think I will put a little mention in there some where, then at least it's said. All the people we are inviting are friends and work colleagues, so I'm she they won't mind us saying some thing. Xx

I would say day and evening. People still want to give presents if they are going for the evening do I'm guessing, we always tend to :-) xxxx
