Just wondering if any other brides have booked (or had) fireworks at their wedding? Would you mind telling me how much you paid (or were quoted) for a small 5 min display? I'm in the process of asking around for quotes but as it's something I've never looked at before I don't know what is reasonable. Also if anyone has used a company which operates in Cornwall could you please post a link to my wall, as I've only found 2 or 3 companies in the area to ask.
    Thank you

Cheers Flossie, I've had one quote so far of £750 for a 4-5 min display, I know I will be paying slightly more because of the date but I don't want to pay over the odds because I have no idea how much is too much!!

We have been quotes £350 for 5 minute display from a well known firework company in Glasgow however my venue can do it or £200 im still thinking about it though. £750 is quite alot of money for a 5 minute display I just checked the date f your wedding though and it might be so high because its NYE

Any chance you could get someone from your wedding party or a friend to set the display up and you just buy the fireworks? ( will need to check with venue about insurance) will reduce the price :)

It might be that the venue will need someone with the appropriate insurance to set them off and not a friend. Only say this as a few years ago, a venue on the IOW was set alight by fireworks being set off, it was an old building and took a long time to be rebuilt.

Our venue is fine with fireworks but they have requested that they are provided on set off by a professional. However I may have come up with a plan, a work colleague has a licence as he used to sell fireworks and he has said he can get me a £1000 (rrp) display for £200 and he will set them up and set them off for me. My only concern is as the wedding is so far away it's highly unlikely that we will still be working together at the time of the wedding :(
so still going to shop around waiting on a few more quotes as I'd rather have something set in stone but if nothing comes in a bit cheaper this is another option

Whoa! That's a lot of money.

Do check with your venue whether you're allowed them. Our venue didn't allow fireworks.
