Is anyone actually offering there day guests a choice of food at the wedding breakfast, we were thinking of having the following: Starter: Tomato and Basil Soup Main: Breast of Chicken, steamed vegetables with Gravy Dessert: Apple Pie and Custard or Profiteroles
We really want something that we will all enjoy, we don't want anything really fancy, just something everyone will like. Im really torn as to what to do, i know you cant please everyone but we want to do our best!
Thank you

Our venue doesn't give them a choice, we have to choose dishes per course, one meat and one vegetarian.

I think most places like everyone to have the same food as its easier for them
My guests don't have to let me no they just choose on the day so discuss it with your venue but it could be cheaper to have one choice if depends on the Venue

We never had choices. We chose stuff that would be ideal for both meat and non meat eaters, then for the main, we catered for vegetarians but they had to let us know well in advance.

We have 2 choices per course which were things we liked (Bruchettta/melon, Roast pork/Veggie option, Eton Mess/Chocolate Brownie). We will be sending the menu out with invites and people will have to make their choices on the RSVP card. Or I might set up a surveym0nkey for those that want to do the responses online. X

Sorry just a thought - if you are doing a choice, make sure you have what everyone picks on their placecards because no one will remember what they ordered months before. Also have a good clear list per table for the catering staff to follow. X

We didn't have the option of giving our guests a choice, we had to choose a set menu for everyone, but we could then organise alternatives for those with dietary requirements, which we did on an individual basis, having included a space on the RSVP for any requirements to be mentioned.

We're the same as Danielle, our venue just ask us to choose the soup flavours for people to choose before hand but other than that we're lucky as they get to choose on the day xx

We're having a carvery style meal so they have a choice if 3 different meats, trimmings and a vegetarian option. Not putting it on invites as we have pretty much told everyone and only person that has raised a little complaint was OHs sister but that's due to her admitting she is fussy and unless it's a dietry requirement due to allergies, we're not changing it.

Thanks Guys, i just dont want people sitting there thinking i dont like this! And we have to let our venue know in advance what we are having, i know it could potentially get messy with people not letting us know what they want etc... Im so confused as to what to do :(

We have 3 choices for starters, 4 for mains, and if we were having desert their would be 3 choices. But that's what our venue offer.
Your choices seem good tho I like the starter and main and would be happy with profiteroles.

We have 2 choices for each course (plus an extra veggie option on main). I have to do table settings with menu choices on back as venue don't supply this. I included a little RSVP card in our invites with the menu which had tick boxes to select choices - so far it's working quite well. Our cut off is 1st May so anticipating having to chase some up yet!
