Hi can anyone help m? I've bought my wedding dress but I have no idea about a hoop, I think it may need something but I don't want it to go too puffy as I think it will change the look of the dress . The dress I have is the Sophia tolli jillian dress, which is described as a fitted a line. Any help and advice gratefully recieved

Did you get your dress from a bridal store? If so they should be able to help you and have a few for you to try on with the dress so you can get an idea?

Do you really need one? Maybe just a softer tulle under skirt to give a softer shape would be better.
My sister had a fitted A line dress for her wedding gown and didn't have any hoop or additional petticoat underskirt.

Yes that's the dress I didn't buy it from a traditional bridal shop it's from a lady who sells unworn samples so she didn't have any hoops. I don't want anything that's going to make it bigger. Just something that will hold it in shape life the first picture at the moment it kind of just lays flat and bunched at the bottom. Someone also mentioned a hoop might keep the dress off my legs I don't know if this is true x
I think you may be better off having some tulle underneath rather than a hoop so it's less rigid and more natural.

It's a beautiful dress, have you got a pic with you in it so we can see what it's like without anything?

I'm having a little hoop thats about mid calf. Its just enough to give the dress some shape but doesn't make it huge and stiff. It also meant there was a bit of air around my legs when I tried it in the dress shop so will hopefully keep me cool with the layers of fabric. I also went to an ex-sample shop. I didn't try a tulle one like InDreamland says. Would this add any extra weight or make you too hot? X

i would say some thing like Kirsty said, my dress is supposed to be without but i needed a little mid calf hoop too! this enabled me to walk, like you said lifting it off your legs, its amazing the difference it makes, i would definitely try different ones, so you can choose which is best for your needs, try them with the dress and walk in them too! :)
by the way your dress is stunning :) you are going to look beautiful in it xx

I bought a hoop and didn't use it, but wished I did.

I would think a hoop would be too much to put under that gorgeous dress and it looks fine how it is but if you really did want to give it more definition I agree with the extra tulle, any professional seamstress should be able to add this if you did not get it from a bridal shop
