We are having bacon baps sausage baps and chips but we are having a wedding breakfast. If I was just to have a buffet I think I'd have foods like chicken curry and rice, lasagne etc with chips, salad, cold meats etc or what about a hog roast with chips salad etc

We are doing the same MrsPage getting married at 4pm & going straight into the evening party, we couldn't afford to feed 100 guests twice.

Are you having a hot or cold or mixed buffet?

We're having a selection of carved meats, rolls, pickles, cheeses, salads, chicken goujons, pork pies, quiche, salmon, king prawns, there's lots more but my minds gone blank.

Ask about it though, my hotel offered it as an option for an evening buffet.

Mrs Robson.. Sounds like a good list, I'd prefer a cold buffet I think.. But I'm just having a tough time deciding on filling options the hotel gave come up with a few ideas and have quoted me £25 per person but seemed steep for what was on the list, so that's why I wanted to see other peoples lists and prices

Emma... Another good list, but we have a family of fussy eaters!! Lol :D

MrsPage that sounds alot for a buffet but then hotels do bump their prices up, with our venue you have to use outside caterers.
We were planning on having a hog roast as it was the cheapest option for our numbers & that was coming in around £12 per person using rubbish paper plates, etc. Luckily my dad & stepmum offered to do our food & pay for it :)
They are both ex chefs with alot of experience catering for big party's, our venue is a school so it has a decent kitchen & lots of fridges. They plan to do the food the day before & we will just pay one of our son's friends to take it all through to the buffet room before we all arrive at the venue.
I have no idea what it's going to cost until he purchases it but it will be significantly cheaper than the hog roast option, at the most around £5 per person.

Yes, that's what we thought, so we are currently trying to get the price down a bit.
You're lucky to have family that can/will help out with things like that. If you can then self catering is the way to go! Get so much more for your money and you get what you want. Plus the help takes the stress away, and at that price you really can't grumble :D
