Well we buckled down over Christmas and have gotten so much wedding stuff done, including paying off a few more things. We asked our parents for a little cash for Christmas rather than gifts so that all went straight to the venue.

Got a call from the shop and bridesmaids dresses are ready to have my girls get their final fittings!
I ordered my shoes - spent more than I wanted but they're gorgeous and ideal for me as small heal with extra cushioning as I don't do heels very often.
Picked almost all of our songs now - at a dilemma for what I want to walk down the aisle to, it's either a lovely song I've had picked for ages or our son playing the piano (he is 4 tomorrow so may be a little nervous which is why I'm unsure)
    Paid more towards the flowers/favours
    Paid more towards the photographer
Going this week to sort appointment for hair trial etc. (my hairdresser doesn't work Mondays otherwise would have done today)
We also had another meeting at the venue after the issue we had with rooms and have finalised which room we will be using and have to say, I love it....it is the room we originally had for the day and the one for the meal/evening is so pretty, a lot prettier than I remember it being :)

However.....I'm cutting it close to order my flower girl dresses! We have just under 11 weeks to go, think I must be crazy leaving it this late.

Ooooo and almost all our invites have been given out :) Only the odd one still needs handing out which will be done in the next week or 2 :D :D

Wow sounds like wedding planning is certainly in full swing for you, sounds so exciting!

It would be lovely for your son to play the piano. If on the day is he is too nervous to play in front of everybody could you have a CD ready and waiting just in case as a back up plan? x

Not a bad idea Flossie, could always still have it on the CD. With him only being 4 he only knows a handful of songs, thinking of asking his teacher tomorrow whether there is anything she can suggest he play that she can help him learn. He learnt jingle bells for Christmas and was brill at it. Even if it was something like twinkle twinkle little star lol, just think it adds something different and unique to it all. Plus he is super super excited about it all

It would be amazing no matter what he played (within reason obviously lol) as it's something so personal. Would be really, really lovely!!

Or if he thinks he might be too nervous maybe you could record him playing something and put it onto a CD which could be played instead of him actually playing live? x

I'm going to talk to his teacher tomorrow then at his lesson, see if she can suggest anything. He will say he wants to now, it'll be closer to the day or even at the exact moment he may get nervous though lol. But like that I can still be prepared. We've got a lot of personal touches in our wedding. I'm stuk on my something old and blue though, my something new is my dress, something borrowed is my granda's buttonhole that I ordered him and he passed away so instead of cancelling it I have asked for it to be attached to my flowers

My mum was going to play the organ for us but she's decided to step down and let a friend do it instead (we are musicians) because lovely as it would be, she feels the pressure as it is an important day to get right and as mum if the bride she wants to be able to enjoy the day which is fair enough :) will your son be ok with playing? I think because he is only 4 he wont feel as much pressure as your mum. She would feel awful if she messed up, but my son will be told I simply want him to play, he won't quite see the importance. And with him being so young everyone will also just think it's pretty darn cute lol. Of course I'm going to ask him but I know what his response will be :) I have also considered letting him play when we are signing the register as not as much pressure then

You're right he won't feel the pressure so much as an adult who recognises the importance and significance. I don't know how big or small of a wedding you are having, but the main worry would be if he freaks out as soon as he sees all those people. Is he walking with you down the aisle or anything? If not, he could also play whilst the guests are sitting down as the pressure will be less then as well and it would allow him a little practice. I presume he will be walking down with you though x

He will be walking down the aisle in front of me yes. He will be walking with one of our flower girls and his younger brother will be walking with another flower girls, 3 bridesmaids in-between with our youngest bridesmaid pushing our youngest flower girls down the aisle (or holding her hand if she's walking by then)

I'm sure he will be fine, children don't seem to feel pressure the way adults do so he will probably love it, plus he may feel like he has a double important role in the wedding by walking down the aisle with you then going to the piano! Like Flossie said though maybe a backing CD would be a good idea just in case of any nerves :) x

Maybe your son's teacher can record him playing whatever piece you choose as a back up, so either way your son plays you in. You might also like to find him plenty of opportunities to play the piece in front of different people so that he gets used to it. Presumably you have a different piece picked out for the bridesmaids to walk in to, so you will need to work out your timings carefully so that your son can get to the piano in time. I actually recorded myself playing (I'm a flautist), so that I could play myself down the aisle.

Well spoke to his teacher, shes very excited and is going to teach him a lovely piece :) If he bows out and gets nervous last minute ill just have our backup on cd.

Booked my dress fittings! 7th February is my first one....seeming so real now. Even my sister is getting excited and was so pleased when she realised the 7th is a Saturday and will be off college so can come lol.

Also bought my shoes :) Different ones though. I ordered mine from a shop that said they'd order them in when the place opened again after new year....they never did and when I finally chased them to find they hadn't ordered I decided to stuff it. If they were that unreliable they weren't getting my money. Went to my local dress shop where I got my bridesmaids dresses from and they showed me a couple and then told me they were on sale. They're lovey and simple, ideal size heel and meet the approval of my mam and my bridesmaids.

    Getting very excited

Good news about the shoes. I bought a pair that I thought were perfect when I wore them in the shop, but when I used them as a spare pair when I was a bridesmaid and needed flats to change into I found them very uncomfortable, so ended up finding some online that were perfect.

I'm going to walk my shoes in and will need some cushioned plasters on the backs of my ankles for comfort. We get married 20th March AprilS61. I'm hoping my dress wont need much altering at all! I needed to lose a little weight to fit in it as it is otherwise it would need some extra panelling. Also talked to the shop about what hoop to have. They just acquired a Hollywood dreams hoop which they think would give the look I am after :)

I hope you provide us with some pictures of the big day :)

What kind of heel r u wearing? Like a kitten heel?

I'm wearing flats, my h2b is the same height as me and doesn't like it when I tower over him- which don't get me wrong any other day I don't listen and wear my heels anyway- bustier the sake of he ceremony and photographs I'm willing to do it for him. Maybe even go barefoot as we're having an 'earthy' theme and could match the hippy sort of vibe.
I've seen lots of sparkly ballet pumps on the market but nothing weddingy unless I customise myself. Has anybody one barefoot before?...

I considered barefoot. But decided I needed something for the day at least. Not sure what kind of heel it is, all I know is it's not high lol. Buying FG dresses this week, all the girls are aged 1-4 so could change size last minute. Our rings arrived and OH MY GOD! They are amazing, totally in love with them. Didn't manage to keep them a secret and had to show my parents. Also ended up giving 2 of my bridesmaids their gifts haha.
Been using a vibration plate the past week also as still trying to fit into my dress as it is and im seeing results already :)
Booked mine and one of my bridesmaids hair trial too. She had a hair fiasco a few months ago and so had to get her hair cut fairly short so she is nervous she wont be able to do much for the day so thought best to get her a trial. Got to have our paperwork back to the registry office within the next 2 weeks I think it is and still haven't filled it all in. My son started practicing his music for the day and he is enjoying it and doing nicely with it :)

Really struggling to find flower girl dresses and a piece for my hair (I've picked the style and need some pins or something for it.)

But I am also very excited, i'd say more excited than stressed.

Also sorted my hen do for 7th March, quad biking and mud buggies and then off out for a meal and drinks.

The lady in the venue yesterday mentioned about how I can now say, 'I get married next month!!!!!' Which put a smile on my face.

So, the last week has been interesting. Like I said in a previous post, I had my hair trial done, now worrying that I don't like it so looking for a completely different style meaning I'll need another hair trial. Haven't even thought about makeup and decided I need new ear rings, the ones I got although they're gorgeous I think they're too big for a bride. I also need to get my veil which I know I definitely want.
Got a few days off this week with I being half term so going to spend time with my kids and sort out my H2B's gifts, need to put it all together properly. Gave him 2 of them early lol. One is a paintballing experience that I bought for 5 people for £5!!!! and the other is a glass picture with 'Always & Forever' wrote in it....I was going to put it in his box but it was too big and it's what he has always said to me.
Was talking to his mam at the weekend and it's lovely to see how excited....all be it a little stressed....about it all. Gave her times for things (which I need to write down for her) as she is getting the boys ready and making sure my H2B and best man are all ready and arrive on time lol.
Aaaannndd, my mam is finally excited, she's been stressing as she couldn't find an outfit, finally went on Sunday and she bought something she loves. She says it's like a weight lifted off and she is now super excited.

Well looks like it isn't chicken pox as he's seeming much better. But this past week has been like a week from hell. I snapped my tooth in half, luckily got an emergency dentist appointment and got it sorted, but then had a huge family dispute which ended in me having very little sleep and spending a lot of time crying.....and yesterday I went and burnt my finger and so now its all bandaged up as it's quite bad :? And it's on my damned left hand, hopefully not looking too bad this time in 2 weeks, its on the underside of my finger so can be hidden on pictures.

My final dress fitting was last week and it was perfect :) Got my hoop at home with me now and need to go get my dress on the 18th. Also got another hair trial done and the 2nd style was definitely more me, I loved it. Our 2 boys are getting their suits measured on Saturday...I had to ring the suit place and chase it like. My H2B is starting to panic as he says he isn't ready, in the sense that he hasn't wrote his speech, hasn't gotten me a gift, hasn't done the little things I've asked him to...but he's been dead busy at work so I understand, which is why I rang the suit place. Need to ring the registry office to and find out if we can have Skype on during the ceremony for family in Aus. who couldn't make it. Eeeeeek 2 weeks tomorrow! 14 days!!
