We are arranging suits for the wedding and we are having trouble knowing who we should have in matching suits to h2b. So far we have included my dad, best man and usher. My h2b mother and father separated years ago and have new partners that are now very much part of the family.
Do we include FIL and MIL partner or leave them to sort their own out.
We are on a tight budget but wouldn't want either of them to feel different or left out to the other.
Has anyone else been in this situation?
    Advice would be grateful

Anything goes these days.. whatever you want! My OH wants to wear a different coloured suit to the other guys.. but we are having my dad and OH's 2 best men in the suits. I would leave the partners to sort themselves out as they are not strictly part of the wedding party xx

Well my FIL is actually one of my OH's best men.. but if he wasn't a best man, I guess it would be up to OH whether he wanted him in a matching suit or not. Traditionally the FIL wouldn't be, but it's all down to personal preference (and budget!). If the budget is a problem you could always ask them to buy/hire their own. They would have plenty of notice so hopefully that wouldn't be a problem x

We did hubby, my dad, FIL, best man and 2 ushers. Everyone else should sort their own out. It's for bridal party only IMPO but like others say, anything goes these days and depends on budget.

We hired suits for my husband and his two best men. Everyone else was asked to wear their own, but we provided matching ties for the ushers, and button holes for the two fathers.

We are having suits for both our dads, the best man and groomsmen and (h2b obvs!) we are paying for all the suit hire, although I think its quite common for the men to pay for their own. In my opinion if your Dad is having a matching suit unless there is a good reason I think h2bs Dad should be in one but thats just me.

Why don't you ask both of them if they would like to wear the matching suit and then give them the details so they can pay for it themselves? Then they have the choice whether they want to or not and then it won't affect your budget?

We are having the same suits for H2B, my dad and FIL (best man), but my dad and FIL are buying their own. If FIL wasn't best man I don't think we would get him a matching suit but I would say if other people would like them/ or you would like them to, ask them if they would mind getting their own x

My husband bought his (I think), and my father in law bought his. I could be wrong though, as knowing my father in law, he probably paid for both.
