Hi guys! I had my first day wedding dress shopping today, and I am feeling really muddled about everything! I saw quite a few that were okay, but I think that I am too fussy! I know it was only the first day of shopping, but I thought that I would have found one that would have blown me away and that I would feel more emotional trying them on, but I didn't really 'feel' anything, even when trying on a dress that looked lovely on, had nothing I could point a fault with and everybody else said was a 10/10 on me. I know everybody says that when you find "the one" you will know, but I always build things up in my mind then feel a little bit disheartened when the reality doesn't live up to my expectations, so I guess I am left wondering if I will get 'that feeling' or if I will leave a perfectly good dress for some notion that I wasn't feeling emotional enough! After being home for a while, I am liking the dress more and more when looking at the pictures and comparing it to the others, but am still put off by my lack of emotion when I initially tried it on.
I also tried on another dress with a beautiful full length veil which made me tear up a little bit (the veil not the dress!), and I loved the detail on the dress but did not like the a line skirt as I feel it does not show off enough of my shape on the bottom half... which has led me to my next thought: actually trying to have a dress custom made. I found dresses today in which I loved certain elements but other elements completely put me off; eg. first there was too much sparkle, then not enough, one was too puffy, one was too straight, others did not fit tight enough, or were either too busy or too plain, etc.
Has anybody else had or looked into having their wedding dress custom made? And if so, what were the prices like? I don't have the biggest of budgets so I am guessing that I am being completely unrealistic, but I thought it is worth looking into at least!
