another new post from me. My H2B has a female best woman (what is the actual term?) which is great. We have already got my h2bs, usher and father of the grooms suits (as we saw it in a shop for a bargain). We are very relaxed about what our best woman has to wear and told her the colour scheme and go for what she wants to wear. My question is: What do best woman usually wear? And can i invite the best woman to my hen or is she only allowed to the stag do?
Anyone had any experiences having a best woman and if so is there anything different we have to do? We have pretty much left it up to her as she is very reliable and sensible

my H2B has a very good female friend as well (she's not best woman but very close) and we gave her the choice of hen or stag do and told her she was more than welcome to come to both if she wanted! She chose stag do as she's one of the boys and has known them all for way longer than me and that's brilliant. As for what to wear, do you want her to be dressed differently from the bridesmaids so as to stand out in her position? If so, maybe she could get a co-ordinating colour that would complement their outfits yet make her feel special.

One of my friends husband had a best women for their wedding day. She wore a long dress but in a different style and colour to the bridesmaids and complemented the groomsmen. She was also 8.5 months pregnant.

There's another post on here about a best woman and outfit choice... have a read before you give her complete free reign on outfit choice! Perhaps show her what the BMs are wearing and maybe go throgh some ideas together. I would still invite her to the hen do - even if she says she would rather just go on the stag its still nice to be asked.

^ h2b may not want her to come on stag doo, one of our joint friends, (who i have been friends with since school, but knew OH before i did) was on about going to both hen and stag, but OH said right out, your not coming on my stag, guys only, and she kept on going on and on and on about it saying she was going to go, coz she is one of the guys etc , but H2B has said in no uncertain terms shes not coming.
