I'm not having any bridesmaids, as I don't have anyone suitable I can ask. My fiance thinks it will look really odd. I'm now worried that it's going to look strange. What do you think?

Your so wise! You don't need bridesmaids, only a couple of willing people to witness and sign register... X

You don't need them, and it will save you a fortune. It won't look strange at all, it doesn't matter whether you walk in with a huge retinue, just with your father, or completely alone.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I think if you're happy with your decision that's all that matters-I'm in the same situation as you, there's no one I feel close enough with to ask. I've got my 7 year old as flowergirl/bridesmaid but that's it. H2B is in a similar situation with his best man as well, we have lots of acquaintances but no one we're particularly close with. When we got engaged a few years ago we had close friends who we asked right away but they've sort of drifted out of our lives since the engagement. I know others who've not had bridesmaids as well, it doesnt seem to have had a negative impact on their big day!xx

Thanks for your replies. You have put my mind at ease. Just phoned my fiance and read all your responses, and he is now convinced it won't look odd, as we're not the first people not to have bridesmaids. I'm happy(ish) not having them. Glad of not having the expense, or potential bickering surrounding dresses, but just feel it would have looked nicer on photo's.

Hannah - My fiance has the same best man issue too, so he's asked his Dad as he's closer to him than any friends.
