H2b has finally decided to have a best man (not the one Id like but it's not upto me lol) His friend A is who he's chosen but A has a twin B he's just as close to both but decided to just have friend A (I'd have preferred both or B lol just because friend A hates my guts) So anyway to the point Ideas how h2b can ask his friend to be best man? Nothing to girlish! He will just call it fannified lol He's also shy and when I told him to ask him he said "how do you do it though" lol Thanks ladies any ideas welcome xx

We went out with the best man and his girlfriend for a few drinks and he just asked then, the wedding got brought up, as it was the first time we had seen them since getting engaged... actually they had been talking about how they didn't want to get married as it wasn't for them, my fiancé just said ''well now we've cleared up your thoughts on marriage, will you be my best man?''
I know this isn't the issue here.... but I don't understand why your fiancé would want to have someone who doesn't like you as his best man :/

Can't see why he'd want someone who hates your guts though..... It would seem hypocritical of him to accept! What will the best man speech be like?!

He just prefers that friends sense of humour I don't have a problem with it at the end of the day I wouldn't want him dictating who I have as bridesmaids so not going to say "I don't want you to have him" I think he'll be civil on the day but I don't particularly like his girlfriend either lol we used to be good friends and all hang out together so it's awkward lol x

I understand you not wanting to tell him who to have, but I just think it shouldn't be down to you to have to say anything, if I knew one of my friends hated my partner I wouldn't have them as a bridesmaid, not because he didn't want me to, but because I wouldn't want someone up there being my bridesmaid if I knew they hated who I was marrying.
But anyway... like I said before that's not the issue and you didn't start this thread for people to comment on that, let us know when he decides how to ask and to let us know how it goes

Seems odd that he won't just ask him, I'd leave him to it if I were you and see if he asks...
Just had a nose in your pics as you mentioned the photographer shots and looked at your dress too..... it's gorgeous hun, is it the same one as the pic in your albums as well, if it is, it looks better on you then on the model. You look great, where is it from?

Maybe he's still not confident with his choice yet subconsciously? My h2b doesn't get to see his best men very often (ones away at uni, other one has just become a dad and the other lives quite far away), so he just did a group message to ask them on fb. With regards to the best man not liking you, maybe you could just mention it as a factor. I think he'd want to know tbh. My h2b wanted to ask his brother, but because his brother doesn't like me (his brother is very clingy of him), Jamie didn't ask him in the end because of he was worried about it ruining our big day. xoxox

I'd kill my oh if he left it so late to decide who he wanted as bestman.
H2b asked his best mate for years at our engagement party and when he accepted he asked the other one (he couldn't choose between the two of the ) to be an usher. I'm happy he's chosen the one to be bestman as he is our sons godfather but would have been happy for either, if he chose a bestman that hated me I would have to say 'do you really think he's the best man for the job seeing as he dislikes me and is going to be spending a big chunk of the day by outsides'.
I couldn't allow it actually because he is going to be in so many photos with you.

I'm not going to tell him he can't have him I think because he's his friend he's known for years and I'm more mature that it won't bother me I want my h2b to be happy He won't be in many pics as we've told our photographer that we don't want a lot of group shots We're going on a walk with our children and the photographer and having natural shots taken :)
I'm going to tell him he has till the end of the month to ask one otherwise he's either not having one or his best man can sort his own suit out lol xx

I think it's different because I don't hate him either lol he just got involved in a argument between me and his gf and hasn't spoke to me since and made it clear he doesn't like me lol Can't stand his gf though and she's my daughters godmother but obvs doesn't matter now we don't speak lol c

Why doesn't he have both hunni? I mean, my h2b couldn't decide, so he asked all three and went by their responses for who gets what responsibility. But with the opinion thing, I don't think you need to tell him that he can't have this guy, just explain that he dislikes you so that he knows to take it into consideration hunni. I was the one trying to encourage Jay to have his brother as his best man, but because everyone knows that Sam dislikes me, he flat out refuse it so that nothing could go wrong. xoxox

I'm with donnah and think it's odd that he won't just ask him-if it's his long time/very close friend-tht friend will know he has a problem with nerves etc!! As for him being someone that doesn't like you and you don't like him either-I don't think I'd want him to play a special part in my day!!

Well I said to OH last night "when you asking A to be your best man because we need to sort suits" he replied "don't know feel stupid asking him" I've said to him to have both but tom n A are really close they snap chatted a pic naked to each other last night :/ lol freaks He's more like a brother to tom and I'm really not fussed if he wants him he can He just doesn't have a clue how to ask him xx
