    Heylo

    Bit of advice needed please.

I am having a civil ceremony. In it we have the neccessary vows and personal vows, and one reading. Theres no songs to be sung during it or anything.

Is an order of service neccessary?

My aunty recently got married but in a church and she had one. Not sure if I need to or not?

    xx

    Happily Married! :) xxx

We're having a civil ceremony and having one.. It has a thank you from us on there, the signing songs, the order of the vows, rings, reading etc.. And a little thing at the bottom saying that the candle that will be lit beside us is for people who cannot be with us.. As we don't want to make a big thing about the people we have lost, but wanted a little nod to them xxx

Aw MrsH-2B Thats a lovely idea :) We're having candles on the fireplace so we could put something in there about that. Could I ask how your wording that part please?

How do I go about finding what the order is? lol

What wording do I use as a thank you? Is there a template out there somewhere?

    Civil ceremony's don't require oos

I feel church does for prayers, hymns etc in mine I'm also putting directions to venue, menu, order of day ie times people can expect things to happen, mobile numbers, thank you's and what role people are x

We had a civil ceremony and didn't have on OOS ... actually one of the readings was a poem especially written for us that we wanted to have as a surprise so having an OOS would have spoilt that.

But if you want one then there's nothing stoppping you.

I love the idea of the candle!! Having a civil ceremony but no order of service so
I'm anticipating disorganised chaos! But as we've lost both dads I'm toasting them before we eat. Yes I'll cry but I think it's unfair to asks anyone else to do it xx

For the candles i have put:

The candles beside us are in memory of the people who could not be with us in person today but who we know are with us in spirit and in our hearts..

And I looked at a registrar form and I've literally just put

    Brides entrance
    Vows
    Reading
    Rings
    We're married ! Yey !

Or something to that effect lol...

And on the back I've put

Mr and Mrs H would like to thank you for sharing our special day with us.

And at the top I've put

    Welcome to the marriage of
    My name
    and
    H2Bs name

    :-) hope that helps xxx
