I'm a second time around bride and at 44 am constantly amazed that certain people (his family) feel it's acceptable to voice strong views....so far about the number of bridesmaids (4), family who are and aren't coming to the wedding (no aunties, uncles or cousins to the daytime but miltb had already invited a couple!!) as well as general advice. Grrrrr!!! Xx

My first marriage was 2004 when I was just over 30 I had traditional hotel wedding etc now second time round when we get married u will be 41 and having it simple the way we want . Though people are still very opinionated . Just have it your way it's your day and your hubby's . People will always complain about something xx

I am also a second time bride. Was very young when I first got married (early twenties) and am now 30.

What Im finding is that people arent really bothered now about our plans. I have also had a few snidey comments about why are we having a big wedding when I have been married before (h2b hasnt been married before). I did find it quite hurtful at first but now I just ignore it.

Yep this is my second time and I've had those comments too. "Aren't you going to have a quiet wedding since this isn't the first time". It's like they think you should be ashamed or something. No sod off.

I was a second time round bride, I had some but not many interfere. The main one was a friend who got married the year before us kept interfering, basically trying to get me to go with things she had. My wedding this time though was completely different to my first one in a much better way,

I'm a second time bride at 26. I was forced into getting married the first time around and was granted an annulment as a result. It was a big white wedding, using colours I didn't want, wearing a dress I didn't like, in a venue I couldn't stand. It was everything I didn't want.

This time it's a very simple, intimate and relaxed wedding with no fuss. People have tried to interfere but we've shot them down and made it clear that this is our day and they can like it and lump it! :) xx

What I will say is that's it's so much more fun this time!!! Not as formal or traditional (as I've said on another page my mother has called the wedding 'alternative' and I'm so tempted to tell her we're sacrificing a goat lol) and things have changed so much in 19 years! Back then no one had heard of a chair cover and you did the guest a 'favour' by inviting them not having to give them something for coming!!! It's great that my 2 awesome teenagers will be by my side- 17 yr old daughter as a BM and my 16 yr old 6 foot son giving me away :) xx

Good for you rachelE118 . We are planning a more relaxed wedding also . As we both have been married before and he had the big church wedding and I was married in a hotel and had load of folk . This time round we are opting for anvil hall which use to be a church then on to a community hall with hot buffet . I still intend to wear wedding dress in ivory and why should I . Good luck 2nd time round brides xx
