So the OH and I have been talking about our wedding date and we've realized that we just don't want to wait 3 years to get married especially when we are probably going to have the money sooner anyway thanks for various family contributions (we are both the first to get married since our parents and also first grandchild getting married so little helpings will be given)..... Our dilemma is that although we love our NYE 2016 date, we feel it's too far away and particularly as we have a few older relatives who we want to see us get married before they .... Well..... Pop it basically! So going through the calendar, we've come up with 2 dates that we like that would be suitable -
One is our old date 4th June 2016 and the other is 16 April 2016.
4th June would be 4 years to the day since we've met which obviously means a lot to us but 16th April is between our parents's wedding anniversaries which are 7th and 20th April 1985 respectively..... What would you ladies choose on as obviously both dates are significant to us? :) xxx

If you even brought it forward to 16th April 2015 (instead of 2016), it would coincide with their 30th wedding anniversary! That would mean your wedding could be in 16 months though. If you love the 4th of June as it is significant to you, then I personally would choose that one over choosing one which matches nearly your parent's wedding anniversaries, though that is just me. Whatever you choose, should be what makes you happiest!

Personally I'd go with the April date, I am biased as I'm getting married in April, but you can get some great deals with it being just out of season!! And it's the soonest. We'd have chosen sooner than April 2015 if our venue didn't have a massive waiting list though!

Thanks girls - We hadn't even realized that it was conciding with their 30th wedding anniversaries!! Unfortunately, as much as we'd love to do it then, it's not going to be feasible as we will be in our 3rd year at uni and finishing off recitals and dissertations! We will be under enough stress as it is without planning a wedding alongside lol ;)
I think we are edging towards the April date even though June has a significance as well..... It would be nice to have that special affinity with both parents I think and plus we love the way it looks.. It's also a day completely for us with nothing happening on that day apart from us, eg no new year's stuff happening! Also, as you say, it's just before wedding season kicks off so we'll get good deals on a lot of stuff :D xx

All change! After talking to the various families etc... They have agreed that they'd be able to help enough for us to bring it forward a bit if we wanted so we have brought it forward to the April date :) nice to know we'll be a married couple sooner than we thought! :) xx

Very!! Only downside is that we can't really do our Christmas/December wedding now which I'm a bit miffed about :( always thought I'd get married in December but it is the person I'm marrying, not the month! Going along the Alice in Wonderland theme atm :) xxx

I'm not settled on it I must admit... I've never been much of an Alice person but I know Debbie loves it so I'm doing my best to come round to it, doing some research into it to try and get more enthusiastic lol. Can't quite let go of our Christmas/NYE/Harry Potter theme just yet! xxx

Ive seen some gorgeously ethereal Alice/wonderland things recently...was looking last night...I will see if I can find it and post it to your wall. Posted something, hope it gives you a direction to look in. The bouquet esp is beautiful! If I didnt already have mine and plan my theme, I would have bought that and had a completely different theme! haha!! (The links might need copied and pasted)

Weedles moving the date forward sooner so they can be wifey and wifey sooner as they will have the funds and makes more sense to marry earlier and April in between both parents anniversaries so extra special for hem and a date of their on Congratulations Catherine moving the date forward just like me it's exciting isn't it and I personally would go for the 4th of June as it's your Annuversary I'm getting married on my Anniversary 5yrs I said Yes to becoming a couple <3X
