Like the topic says - I haven't been around here for a few weeks - but I've had a good reason.....Megan Elizabeth was born on the 3rd November @ 9.28pm, weighing a tiny 5lb 6oz.
She was a very quick breech birth - and was born so quick I didn't even have time for any pain relief!!! lol Unfortunately though, I had a few complications after the birth and finished up in theatre as I had a retained placenta. I'm petrified of needles, but finished up having to have a spinal block as well as body going into shock and bp dropping to forty something over twenty something, with a pulse of 40!! I also had to have a blood transfusion, which meant I had to spend another 24 hrs in the delivery suite.
Fortunately, Megan was healthy - until a couple of days after her birth when she developed low blood sugar (which picked up after a couple more days) but then she developed jaundice and finished up having to have phototherapy. All in all we spent 7 days in hospital so was glad to be home after that!!!

Aww congrats! I too have experienced a retained placenta as my LO was premature...i was so afraid...i was irrationally thinking they would never get it out of me! I also went into shock after op and was acting n feeling very odd and couldnt control hands n arms and they kept bending backwards by themselves! Was horrid.
At least u are both safe and well now. Enjotly this special time x
