are any of you brides doing a speech at your wedding? H2B keeps saying that i should do one if he has to but i really will be an emotional wreck. i cry at the TV all the time and im generally just a loser with things like that. however i do quite like the idea of writing the speech.

so is it acceptable for me to ask someone to read it out for me? like my Maid of Honour? or should i just not do one? x

It's so rude closing threads some people want personal answers you should be able to post a thread about anything without having it closed because there's one similar

the trouble is hun we could end up with lots of threads on the same subject ....with people posting the same thing on each one.

And also when you post on another thread because the person in questions question isn't exactly the same they end up going unanswered

Becky have you thought about recording yourself saying your speech and then maybe you could get a tv or something so you can play it on the day that way you get to say what you want, how you want it but before your wedding and you won't have the fear of not been able to say your words due to tears or whatever.

ive updated the title so it makes it more specific. thanks for your suggestions. katie a joint speech sounds good - maybe ill have a chat with H2B as I know hes really nervous. maybe if both of us are up there then it will help :) and if i start blubbering he can finish my sentences lol. i hate listening to a recording of my voice as have to do this often at work so a good idea buttonandboo but not for me i dont think x

First, I disagree that you have to do a speech because he does; neither of you has to do a speech, so if you don't want to do one, don't; similarly, there's nothing forcing him to do one if he really doesn't like the idea.

Second, I think it would be weird for your MOH to read your speech, so personally, I'd either read it yourself, or just skip it.
