Could you not make props yourself from say boxes amd paint? and then get some polystyrene balls and almost have Xmas corner as such with your made props on polystyrene balls acting as snow? No idea if this is practical or not for your venue but just an idea.

I watched Choccywoccydoodah and the lady and man on there had a wonderful Winter Christmas theme, there cake had a stag and deer on, and had snowflakes falling down the cake and was all glittery! Was stunning.

Also, baubles! You can pick up baubles pretty cheap, and you can decorate so much with them. You could get branches, clean them up, paint them white and glittery and hang baubles in your colours off of them. Or a white wish tree, as the bare branches always remind me of winter.

Ivy always seems christmassy to me too. So hints of green coming through the white.

You could have mulled wine, instead of champagne? You can pick up the fake snow sheets from the £1shop to decorate table with, as table runners perhaps? Hanging fake icicles around tables, or instead of chair bows, have icicles instead.

Just a lot of glitter, white/blue and hints of green is what i imagine.

Good luck. We played with the idea of a winter wedding, there are lots of possibilities!

thanks guys..lots of ideas there.seen the baubles and thanks princess2be would like to see your ideas.will look now.

as some of you will know,we were getting married may this year but split last year for a few months.we got back together this year and all back on for next xmas.still have my dress and bridesmaids dresses that are cadbury purple, and wanted to keep the same colours which included hot pink gerberas with purple.may need to rethink with xmas theme...think silver? as like the bling bits! lol.
thats the trouble ive had with xmas decs as most are traditional red, green, gold etc.

*anyone know of any good 'prop' hire ??? like idea of a sleigh to sit in and have pics pre decorated xmas trees??

instead of having a wishing well, have a proper christmas tree (fake one), decorate it with lights/tinsel, then buy the photo baubles from £land, cut disc shapes that are the perfect size for the baubles then ask your guests to decorate your christmas tree with their messages....?

Charities send Santa out the days preceeding Christmas for all the kids & to collect donations, maybe you could ask your local charities if they would be willing to attend with their Sleigh if you were to make a donation?

I like the idea of filling bowls with baubles in your colour scheme. That looks nice, whereas sometimes Xmas themed things can get a bit tacky, however, there are tasteful ways of doing it.

I also like the idea of red and white rather than blue/silver as I feel that can make it feel a little cold. Red and green are obviously the christmas colours, but I've heard the saying red and green should never been seen, yet I think it looks lovely.

Purple baubles are often about this time of year. I've seen a lot of lime green and purple in the last year or so, so I would keep an eye on places like the R@nge and B and Q as they often have sizable Christmas decoration selections. Would also say that as these aren't the most popular colours for actual Christmas decorations, you might be able to pick up some bargains in the January sales this year ready for next year.

Maybe you can have a table plan like an advent calendar?

Oh and these as well. You could spray them with a little snow spray and glitter for added effect:

My hotel are giving me free centerpieces of large glass bowls filled with babubles.
you could also spray paint some pine cones silver or even your cadbury purple.

I am also having topiary trees outside the cermeony room and covering them with fairy lights and fake snow!!

Brilly - i was so close to getting the middle bouquet but got this one instead and have asked for the tiny glittery baubles to be put in as well!!

We are quite lucky in our setting. We live in Blackpool so the Christmas Illuminations will be on in time for our photos - hopefully we'll get a beautiful clear day too so we can get married as the sun sets behind us :)
I have a beautiful white fur stole as my something borrowed - adds a lovely wintery feel to my dress. I've also asked the florist to incorporate some holly into my bouquet xx
