    Hi Phillippa :)
The first thing I did was work on my budget. Knowing a little bit about the cost of weddings my h2b and I set an amount we'd be happy to pay. I researched several local venues to get an idea of how much the day would cost. I also researched the cost difference between having the ceremony in a church and with the registrar. I also started exploring the cost of dresses, invites, suit rental.... Finding that out I was able to start allocating my budget to different parts of my day. I'm currently working on saving up for my day and haven't booked anything yet. But I do have a dress, shoes, veil, invites, and a lot of decorations already.

    I'll bump the threads:
A Brides Checklist - where to start your planning etc (An indepth to do list)
    &
    Budget brides budgets!
They are a good read and should help you get the ball rolling on your own wedding plans x
