So I did my first trial run of cupcakes today, whikst the taste nice they dont look quite professional enough, I have ideas on what needs changing. So in the middle of icing them the computer broke and I was all stressed out my mum called to see how it was going. I called back afterward and her and dad were saying they think making them on a friday morning for a sunday service will leave me too stressed and they dont think I should make it!

Now im really stressed as it feels like they are doubting me! I know I need a few more practice runs but I make them all the time! I dont have anything left in the budget, although they have asked me to get quotes. They have already contributed so much I dont want another handout!

So ladies am I being a bit pig headed or stick to my guns and see how the next batch goes??

Nah it is normal to get stressed if things aren't going how you want them to; I'd say keep going :)

I love trying to make my own things, I would say keep trying too. Even if my diy stuff does not come out perfect im still going to use it as i know i made it and saved money to. I am going to try and make 110 cupcakes before my day. My mum and sis said to me, It will be to much to do on my own, but i dont think it will. Just havent told them yet that im going to try and make a 9+ tier cake lol but only 1 or 2 will be real, 1 to cut on day and maybe one to take home with us. The guests cake will be in blocks from s&m as this way works out sooo much cheaper and i still get a big cake.

I'm home baking a batch of gluten free cakes for ours - probably not more than 24 or so. But due to allergies, I can't make 'normal' cupcakes with wheat flour, so I'll be buying the bulk of them plain, but decorating them all myself :-/
My plan is to use nice cup cake wrappers, and maybe some pre made sugar flowers and edible butterflies to decorate (from the bay of e) - and hide my poor icing skills! Maybe this is an option you can consider to reduce your stress - I.e. cheat!! No-one will know if you had a little professional assistance, and will still work out cheaper than buying professional ones xx
