Ah right! I thought as much! Will they honour the prices they offer this year or do you think they would have a price plan in place for 2015 already? It's all a bit overwhelming!

Weve just booked our venue for July 2015. We found some venues were willing to stick to this years prices if we booked within a month of obtaining a quote, whereas some already have price increases built in. Our venue quote was about £100 more for 2015 compares to 2014 so not huge. A photographer I spoke to who I asked if she could do it for XXX amount said no but that if I booked now she would do it for this years prices instead of the £1400 shes upping her minimum package to next year. You dont know unless you ask, and feankly, they expect some bartering :-)

They have to honour the prices Hun!
I waited until 18 months before for the exact same reason, as mum was telling me I was silly to go for it so soon.. And had to change my date 4 times to actually be able to book my dream venue - they were ALL gone!!

I have got cheaper than 2013 prices for 2016..we booked up last month and made sure when asking if that is the price that we would pay as if they were gonna up their prices I would continue looking so my prices are held. Every venue is different and some will tell you that you will be charged for 2015 prices but they are not printed yet. Ask lots of questions and if they wont honour the prices ask them what they can offer on top of that package for free xx

It's not to early book it ASAP. I'm hopefully booking mine by beginning to mid September and I don't get married til sept 2015 x

My Friends are getting married in Oct 2015, they are all booked up, she's asked us to be bridesmaids and I'm making her wedding cake and she's already given me the design...there's no such thing as too early!!!
Being organised is key to wedding planning, if you have the veue and church booked you know what you are dealing with for flowers, decoration etc etc and you have plenty of time to research, which is the fun bit :-) x

I would start booking now Hun. We are getting married in 2015 and want a church wedding. Went to go and book the church on Sunday and they are having a celebratory year so I will have to wait until October till they know what weekends are free. I have found that a lot if places will honour this years prices asking as a deposit is put down.

We booked over 3 years out.

Of the 12 venues we viewed, only 3 wouldn't give us a fixed price for our date. A couple (inc the venue we chose) agreed to fix the current year's prices, and the others agreed to a projected, fixed figure (it was a slight increase on 2011 rates and would definitely have been much cheaper than the 2014 prices would have been). So, it is definitely worth asking; I personally would not book unless I knew exactly what the price was; if I didn't, and still had my heart set on the venue, I would budget for a 10% rise each year, and if it wasn't in the budget, I wouldn't book. Also, if they DO fix their prices for you, you should get this written into the contract, as well as EVERYTHING it includes. Otherwise, although you might be paying the same prices, you might be getting less for your money (eg inferior quality wine/food options). We literally had everything written into ours.

But, it's definitely not too early to book, and I would certainly go have a look asap, as some venues get booked 18-24 months in advance.

PS: I've had a lot of comments from the 'older generation' re booking things so early, inc OH's great uncle saying that when HE got married, they did it in a couple of months. The reality is that weddings today are big business, and often grander affairs, than they were 30 years ago. If you want the pick of suppliers, you should be considered booking up to 18 months before (our photographer opened his 2014 diary beginning of April, and you had to register an interest prior to then; we were the last people to meet with, and book, him, and after our meeting at the end of April, he was fully booked for summer 2014), and starting your research before that, particularly if you're fussy.

We booked our venue nearly 2 years in advance. They don't have to honour the prices but a lot of places do. Ours have done a good deal for our drinks package.

Make sure you get everything in writing, also see what else they can throw in for free. I got loads of bits from my venue

The earlier the better, that way youre definatly going to get what you want and where you want. Money wise, when you book all you have to really pay is a deposit. You could even ask if they'd be able to provisionally book a date for a length of time while you can get a deposit together, some places can do that x
