Hi there, my wedding is a long way off, no official date set, but can't start planning until January 2015 and I am hoping to get down to about 126lbs (about 9st) before then (I'm sure I will, its a loooong way off).

I have pretty big boobs. DD, although they MIGHT get smaller with the weight loss (nearly 2 stone still to lose), but looking at myself now, they are sitting quite low without a bra, and they are heavy, so right now I can't wear a strapless bra without them still looking unflattering low down. And I reckon even losing more weight and them getting smaller, they will still sit low.

So, my question is this: would it be worth my while to even look at a strapless dress?? I usually avoid strapless things like the plague, but wedding dresses just look so beautiful strapless!

    Thanks.

If you really want strapless dress there are alot of styles out there that have support inside.
Have you though that Whilst losing weight you could try toning exercises.

    Hey Roguex,

I am in a similar position, although slightly bigger and I opted for a dress "A" shape with straps. Check the picture on my page as an idea. I have tried several dresses and I was surprised to like how I looked in a mermaid dress. You will need to try dresses on though to see which ones you like on you.

I'm 5'1" size 8 but 34DD bust and I was really worried about my dress as I was told by a catty work colleague that my height and boobs would limit my choices. In actual fact most of the styles suited me and I've bought a strapless dress with a very full princessy skirt. I'm aiming to wear a corset type support to keep my boobs high but I tried my dress on the other week and there is a hidden support at the bust that holds me up just fine. I would speak to the ladies in the dress shop and see what they suggest as if the dress doesn't come with support they will be able to add it.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013
The day I marry the man of my dreams!

Yay another 2016 bride like myself deffo a long way a way our wedding but you getting married a few month before me I'm getting married 23rd October 2016 on our 6th Anniversary and for dresses go try them on see what suits your shape and remember you can always get a dress made for you from scratch from a design you like they make it step at a time and lots of fittings can bone it the way you want as most are corset type dresses with an in built bra or support =D ♥ X

I am 5ft7 (& shrinking), I have 38E bust, I am size 14-16. I bought my dress size 18-20. I have opted for an A-line dress & it has a corset back. looking at the picture you wouldn't say i was a size 18-20 in the pic but i assure you I was!

There is a couple of pictures in my albums. One taken from the front, the other from the back. My bust is always heavy & low unless im wearing the correct bra. However, I was not wearing a bra when trying on the dress. I was bra-less.

Best advice I can give you....
    1. Try every style on - it may look lovely on the hanger but horrible on you, it may look horrible on the hanger but lovely on you!
    2. ask advice from the shop attendant
    3. dont take someone too nice with you - you need truthful opinions not ones stating you look amazing in everything! (which of course you will but thats not the point)
    4. get someone to tell you you cant have the dress! - the shop attendant did this to me, the fact that i started crying told me, my mum, and the attendant that i had found "THE DRESS"

Try Maggie Sottero, her dresses are designed for curvy glamazons. I have a friend whose vital statistics are 40 - 29 - 40 and a full D and the dress fit bar some extra space in bust area! We were all pleasantly surprised and then the consultant actually said that her dresses were designed for women that are DD. So I highly recommend her as a designer to try. I also recommend looking for quality designers that either use internal corsetry or external as that will help keep everything where you want it to be.

I would say try on everything (you will be pleasantly surprised!) I am a size 8 hourglass shape with a 32E bust and only 5ft4, and I can honestly say that every style I tried on suited me! I opted for an A line strapless dress in the end and the dress holds me up just fine, so don't fret. Just go and enjoy trying on the dresses! xxx

I'm a dress size 18-20 and I've got 40E chest and I'm 5"3, I find it so hard to find a nice dress that fits me in the waist but not in the chest!
