Hi girls need some advice we have the money to start paying things off although they are not due to like two or three weeks before wedding. We keep dipping into the money and need to find some more again lol. Would yous reccommend paying things off early or do you think this is risky. We have not taken out insurance. I just dont want to risk spending the money again. Has anyone who is round same date as me (22 May) paid there balances. x

Do whats right for you. Our money is in high interest accounts so we can't access it yet without losing interest- plus I have to wait until the new tax year to recieve money from our parents. But if you want to start paying things off go for it.

And insurance- you can get it for under £20 so it may be worth it for peace of mind.

can you explain this to me, it says that cancellation cover of £6k
    then supplier deposits £5k etc

I dont think I understand it cos if I cancelled, and got paid out £6k, then the suppliers deposits would be less than £5k

Dove please can I have the link??? Thanks xx

Ginge I would pay it off as you go!! Stops you dipping in and leaves less of a balance. My hotel is letting me pay money off as we go along to cover minimum numbers and then if we have any extra we need to inform them a couple of months before the wedding and then pay any extra. xx

I have insurance and have started paying the balance on most things now and i'm getting married in July!! We were quite lucky we put all our mney into my mums savings account so meant none of us had access to dip into it and I just kept a spreadsheet of how much was bein deposited. xx

    Hi

I would normally say to save and get interest until the last possible second, but it is possible that VAT will be going up and this will be passed on to customers (joy!). If balances are paid now I am pretty sure that means that any increases in VAT will be avoided.
