we didn't get it and we booked 15 months before the date. We just booked the venue and church we left everything else to a bit later and if we did book we only paid the minimum deposit so if anything did happen we didn't lose a lot just the deposit.

personally i'm a bit against wedding insurance i think its just a scheme but then again its whether your a risk taker or not

It was the first thing i brought and glad of it for peace of mind.... our chair company did a runner so claimed on that and its nice to know its there incase anything happens. I know 2 friends whoc wedding dress shops have gone bump so definintly glad i brought it now. Do you research as loads of companies out there and read the small print but mine cost one off payment of £35 so not bad.

i have taken out insurance and mine was also around the £35 mark and it also covers the stuff i have already paid out for....a small amount for peace of mind i think ....knowing that everything is covered just incase something does happen

Good post, its something I have really debated too.
I think for less that £40 one off payment its probably worth it just for peace of mind. But I would say it probably depends on what kind of wedding you are having too and which suppliers are involved.
I mean if your having a function room with Aunt Marge making the cake, Bill from the bowls club sorting chairs etc out and the three ladies from the school lunch hall doing a buffet then its probably not worth it.

we're getting it, just for peace of mind more than anything, in the total cost of things, from what ive researched, its not all that much money

though really, the only think we're gunna need it for is the venue anyway, doing evertyhing else on the cheap and theres no way the MOSI in manchester is ever likely to go bust or do a runner hahah

It'll save me some sleepless nightes being paranoid for no reason though!

I would most definitely get it, I paid £27 for mine and its covered everything, so when my wedding dress shop went into liquidation taking my £600 deposit with them I was covered for it, there is a lady on here who paid the same shop £1000 cash and had no insurance so had no way of getting it back, so for around £30 I would most definitely get it so you are covered. You would like to hope that nothing is going to happen but you never know.

I was a bit against it to begin with but having had some interesting conversations with people for £37 it was totally worth it as i looked at everything i had paid out so far and it was already getting to the 3k mark and its alot to lose if someone falls though. I would chekc what they cover and exclude tho, i made sure i got one that covered deposits already paid.

I would definitely get it, the cost of it is small compared to the peace of mind it gives you and if you have to make even a small claim you will have more than your money back (although none of us do want to claim).

Mine was £39 too which i thought was hardly anything for peace of mind and i have claimed on mine already.... chair cover company gone bust and i paid deposits and all covered. I think in our current economic climate companies are disaapering so worth the peace of mind, especially as only recently a few wedding dress shops have gone and shops may not have the money to pay out?!

We bought it as soon as we booked our venue and paid deposit. For a small sum it's worth the piece of mind, plus I know of people who have been caught out when their venue has gone bankrupt, and dress shops have gone under. My money doesn't grow on trees so I wanted to protect it. :-)
