I have IBS as well. My doctor has tried a few things with me - but now I take Fibogel Mebeverine sachets. These tend to help most of the time - but if I eat certain things I have a bad attack again (or even if I try some new food/drink).

i had those mym but they made me sick i just tend to eat less wheat products

Hi Girls, i know exactly how you all feel. I have sufferd with IBS since i was about 14. I have found cutting out wheat in my diet has deffinately helped me and have had Reflexology for it too which has worked wonders xxx

The foods I can eat tend to vary month by month. For ages I couldn't eat pizza - but now I find I can if the base is thin. I have a problem with coffee though (can drink tea but definitely not coffee). I might try cutting down on wheat products to see if that helps now.

If you think its the wheat- try wheat free bread.

I think mine is stress induced. I moved and had a sign up appointment with the nurse.
I told her I was a solicitor, that I had just moved house, my nan was ill in hospital, my grandad has regular strokes, my mum looks after them and is stressed and I try and look after her as a result and that I was planning a wedding.
I later said I think my IBS is stress inducued, her advice - avoid stress then. I responded with a quiet "did you forget what we just talked about?" haha

It was so bad today! I'm on a gastro ward so went to chat to the Inflamatory Bowel Disease nurse who said to take mebeverine before food and buscopan every 4 hours. She wants some stool samples so that'll be fun!
