Where do you start?? I've had the discussion of what h2b and myself want the wedding to be. Settled on church ceremony only he hasn't been Christened. Does this matter?? When wanting to book the church for your wedding how do you go about this?? Do you pop in to the church and ask or do you phone??? I'm completely clueless and have never really organised anything in my life. Need serious help!!!!!!

I think he will need to be christened first. Give the church a call... once your venue is booked book the Reception, photographer and cars x

Firstly calm down- there is no need to panic!
You don't have to be christened. We asked the vicar after church one Sunday. Other churches have special days to go and see them. I'll post the church of england website to your wall- it should help.

As far as I know only one of you have to be christened, but I could be wrong!! Give your local parish a call xx

Oopps sorry folks, just what my cousin told me about she has to get christened. Sorry x
H2B needs to be christened hun as far as i know , speak to your vicar he can sort that no problem. sit down and make a first draft of your guest list, so u have rough numbers, so u know how many people it has to hold, book your church, and go dress hunting x
cant wait to renew my vows, love my hubby sssssooooo much xx

Congratulations, first!! You have lots of time to learn how to organise, so don't worry too much! And we're always here to help... esp. the moderators! If the church is CofE that normally, only one of you needs to be christened, so you guys should be ok! Are you going to have it in a church near you? Also, some chapels don't have standing marriage licenses, so you might have to apply for one from the bishop's office... but you have plenty of time! You can normally pop into the church either during or after service, then you're sure to catch the vicar... or if there's a parish newsletter his/her number will probably be on that, or on a board outside the church :D Hope that's clear! Have you thought about venues/themes yet? xx

Hi ya hun. First off congrats and welcome youve come to the right place. Second not sure about the christened bit as im sure my BIL hasnt been and he got married in a church, so i'd ask. As for going or phoning i'd phone and make an appointment as they might be busy when you go, that way you know they will be there for you. After that were all here to help so dont panic :-)

wow i really have come to the right place, thank you so much all of you. I've been Christened and belong to the CofE but not been brought up in a religious family which is why i'm clueless. All i know is what friends and family have told me. I've fallen in love with a church and venue. Not a big spender but have a large family so i've got the ideas but need details. Haven't set a date as we haven't got anything booked and have no money at the mo. Saving now so i have got plenty of time but i'm a worrier and need things planned out which is probably why i'm panicking just a bit lol

I don't know. If I wanted to get married at my church it would be fine, even though I've not been baptised. But I am a regular church go-er! Mind you, mine isn't particularly traditional. And I'm not having one anyway! Hope it works ok. I wouldn't get baptised just to get married in a church, you have to want to for the right reasons (in my opinion)
