My mum wore for her wedding around the same age a rose coloured suit was a registry office and she looked fab it up to you wear what you like
Im getting married for the 2nd time and since I wore Red the first time Im going with tradition, white(cream) and i dont care what people think. I had a quirky wedding when I was 19, I will be 27 when I get married I want classy and traditional :)
So lucky to be marrying my soulmate on 18/07/20

Barbara wear what ever you feel happy in! Have you decided on when, where you are getting married yet? Those factors might influence what you decide you'd like to wear. Give us a bit more info and perhaps we can help you narrow down your choices. xx

I agree with the others, where something you find flattering and that you are comfortable in.

hi, i will be 50 when i marry for the 2nd time .. i tried on a few dresses, all traditional style and worried about looking as though i am "mutton dressed as lamb"! ...but they all looked nice, cream , white and the one i have now got .. its champagne colour and what i would class as a princess dress :).. have what you want and dont settle for 2nd best or what other people think you should wear... good luck getting it.

You've all made me feel much better about it. It's a UK wedding Newcastle upon Tyne to be exact and in a hotel so nothing too formal as I've already done the big white do and it's h2b 3rd time (think he just likes weddding cake). I've been on line most of today looking at dresses and I now think I know what colour I want but I'll keep you informed

OOO yes you must, piccies are a must as well!

I'll be 43 when I get married (3rd and final time for me), I have decided to go for a champagne coloured wedding dress but with a chiffon overlay and floaty sleeves, I hate my arms (weight loss and age getting the better of them) and wouldn't be comfortable wearing a strapless or sleevless dress as a result. Mine still has lots of embroidery and sequins one though

just wear what you find that looks really special! you could always get a bridesmaid dress instead of a wedding dress if you've prefer. you can wear what you want and if you want to wear a wedding dress then wear a wedding dress

I got married last month and I am 51, I wore a wedding dress in champagne gold.......it looked a really old fashioned colour I loved it. My 4 bridesmaids wore different coloured pastel dresses....... I didnt expect to wear a dress like this, until I tried it on and once I had tried it on, it made me feel so good....I had to have it.
I can resist anything but temptation

Have confused myself totally now, I've been on a web site that has mother of the bride dresses and the choice of colour is just amazing but most off them are sleeveless and I just cant do it not with 40ff's I'd need scaffolding to keep them in place
CommentAuthorlizzylou
What are you confused about Barbara? The colour again? Or the shape of the dress? You've got to have something you feel comfortable and confident in so if you're self conscious in sleeveless do not go there! x

To be truthful Lizzylou I just dont wear dresses at all coz I can never get one that looks even just ok I'm only just over 5ft I think the whole thing is scary and the more I look the worse it gets, got a weeks holiday from work in a few weeks think I'll just bite the bullet and go and try some to see whats whats But I think I've made my mind up about the colour I keep being drawn to sliver grey. Thank you
CommentAuthorlizzylou
I'm not a big dress person either Barbara so I understand how daunting it is suddenly having to choose one important one! I'm also only 5"3 so not that much taller myself! I found it really annoying that all traditional wedding dresses seemed to be designed with tall people in mind! I really thought i'd never find at wedding dress at one point! But I just kept looking and eventually I got there. Silver grey sounds lovely. Just keep trying things on and see how you go. You'll find something i'm sure. Plus, you're looking at the right time of year for that kind of colour with all the christmas party fashions coming into the stores. Make sure you go in stores you wouldn't normally! You never know! Good luck. xxx

Have decided to go down the evening dress route may be a 2 piece, I think but not sure might change my mind again, but i think once we set the date (we know when and where we want to do it but wont know till the middle of next month if Ian can get the time off work) I will go and see one and know it is the one I want. But just be prepared for loads of question
CommentAuthorMichelleR969
Just wear sth different! Recently colored wedding dresses are so popular!
CommentAuthorBarbaraU
Ignore anything I have said b4 I have just tried on a strapless dress with a corset and a lace jacket and the lady in the shop said they can do it in just about any colour plus it was only 1 size to small so It didn't look 2 bad and it's under £300 so things are looking good
CommentAuthorLynD
ooo.. that sounds lovely ;)....
CommentAuthorCharlotteB32
Good news! What colour are you thinking?
CommentAuthorBarbaraU
I like grey any shade (not the books) and they can so silver or a dove grey.
