There's a wedding fayre on at Slayley Hall on Sunday :-D
CommentAuthorbluebumble

CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
Im hoping Seaton Delaval Hall, still waiting for an e-mail back though, we've also got our eye on Jesmond Dene House and possibly Slayley Hall
It said on the wedding fayre info that there was make-up artist people there and photographers etc
CommentAuthorWhitey
Let me know if you find a cheap make up artist.
I got quoted £55 per person for a trial and then a further £55 per person for make up on the wedding day. I wanted me and my 4 bridesmaid doing but this quote has really put me off getting make up done on the day.

I know I'm not allowed to post on here... but the company I work for do make up - some of the people are trained in their bridal training and may be resonable.. if you need to know more ask me direct.
If i'm not allowed to put post like this on I apologies - please tell me and I'l delete it straight away! Thanks :)
i think i may have to go.. i have found a very reasonable make up artist at £15 per person shes travelling to me the venue which is in morpeth and coming to my home for the trial which is in killingowrth (newcastle)

I'm getting married at Linden Hall in Northumberland. From Gosforth Here! Went to Slaley hall but it was far too big and impersonal for me!
CommentAuthorMrs Joyce
im getting married at longhirst hall which is in morpeth :) they do a brilliant deal £2010 for 2010, £2011 for 2011 and it is beautiful xx
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
Linden Hall is gorg! Is costing daft prices if you don't mind me asking?
Hey Im origianlly fron Kenton but recently moved to Seaton Burn ;-)
CommentAuthorPossum

Possum - that's really good! Ive just been to Slaley Hall today for the wedding fayre, we're liking it a lot!
it's just under 5k but includes quite a lot (wedding breakfast, buffet on night, flowers, room for the night, function room, some drinks etc.)
Ranges between £55-£75 per person
CommentAuthorPossum
Yeah it is nice. The grounds are beautiful. It just didn't click with me. Its so much bigger than Linden Hall but a plus is that they will only do one wedding a day whereas Linden may have 2. xx
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
Yeah I think it's too big inside, imagine drunk on the night time staggering through them hallways trying to find ya room? haha
We're gonna look at a few other places before we decide like
CommentAuthorPossum
I got so lost going just from the drawing room to the reception! And its only a couple of turns. Beamish Hall Hotel is lovely Nikki. It was my second choice xx
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
OoOoO I may have a nosey at that (not heard that one yet)
yeah you're right, one thing put me off... the type of building it is, the toilets were all out of order bar one which was all the way at the other side of the building which was a maze to find!
Im hoping this isn't a regular thing there lol
Thumbs up for all the free wine I got though haha
CommentAuthorPossum
The toilets just to the left of the reception (as you face the desk) were out of order when I went to visit several weeks ago!
CommentAuthorPossum
That's another thing - Linden Hall was the only place to offer us a cup of tea (which came with amaaaazing homemade shortbread). No-one else offered us tea or a drink or anything.
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
Slaley Hall had free tea, coffee, sparkling wine, water.
Was a help yourself thing, was a man walking round with canopes (I think they were) too.
OMG they were out of order then too! Hmmm that's kinda a massive put off really.
CommentAuthorPossum
They didn't have anything like that for us! Was it a wedding fair? Because all of our venues we just went to look around x
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
Yeah it was a fayre. We just looked around ourselves like coz all the staff were too busy
