I was wondering do you buy your own confetti? I think I should but my H2B says that if people want to throw it then they should buy it themselves. What do you think I should do? x

i didn't buy any i inherited some from a neighbour who bought it all and never used it, it is biodegradable thankfully and its exploding confetti so thats always good for the pics
i think that if people want to buy confetti they will i know some of the other ladies are making natural petal confetti or using bubbles as most places these days dont allow it
8th September 2012 I married my best friend

Depends on your venue and what you want! Most venues only allow bio degradable now which is quite hard to find in the shops for some reason :-( so if you want the confetti pictures I say provide your own and let guests know you will provide it. Other wise you run the risk of nobody getting any and you loosing out on the confetti shots
Ps my first wedding I wanted the confetti shots I got none :-( not only because my photographer was a family friend but because out of 200 guests NOT ONE brought any :-( If you like confetti and think you will be upset if you dont get it and have the photos to cherish then provide it.....saves dissapointment! I'll be providing it this time and it will be attached to our OOTD's and Ive added a bit on our wedding A to Z that we have done this so they dont need to worry

Thanks to all. I think I won't buy any and let the guests bring it, no point of wasting money on something that other people will provide. x

I agree with hails. What if people don't bring any and you miss out on the confetti shot? It depends if confetti is important to you, then I'd provide it xxx

I'm going to write in the invites that confetti needs to be biodegradeable if they wish to bring some and then just buy a little to have at the church, so if no one brings any there will still be enough for a photo with it, but not enough for everyone to have some xxx

I will be buying confetti for my guests, ONLY because we're not allowed confetti outside so the only real opportunity to have a confetti shot is when we walk down the aisle at our venue after getting married.
I will be placing confetti (probably cones) on people's chairs and tell the best man/ushers to instruct guests they need to do this as we're walking out!

the venues we have been looking at don't allow normal confetti so if I want confetti it needs to be natural petals/biodegradable so I need to inform the guests of this. you should check with your venue but the stuff can be hard to find. I won't be providing it for the guests but will be taking al little bit incase no-one can be bothered to look for the right stuff. I want the confetti shot. xx

I have bought two confetti shooters for the confetti shot off the bay of e. They shoot gold and silver confetti 4ft in to the air. Its not biodegreadable even though the town hall have stipulated it must be. But theres lots of the shiney stuff on the floor outside so what are they gunna do put me in the stocks ha! ha!. They also sell the biodegreadable stuff in the town hall for £2.00 which is a ripoff when its 72p in the card shop, I think its just another council money maker.

id check firstly with your venue, as nowadays a lot of them dont want you to throw it. we bought a couple of wee bubble machines and the guest will be handed bubbles with the oos with the ushers telling them no confetti.
we took our own confetti a few weeks ago to a wedding and it wasnt used, we never got the chance to throw it as we were told straight away to go for the buses more or less after the ceremony so the photographer could get on with the pics. in fact i think i gave it to my niece to play with at home. xxx
All the ways of my life id rather be with you.
Theres no way without you.

It does depend on your venue. Our said that only biodegradeable stuff was allowed, so I bought a load rose petals and made up some confetti cones and left them by the door on the way out of the ceremony.

I have had this dilemma, my mum said no dont bother people will bring it themsevles, then the other day h2bs mum came round and we were sorting things out for the wedding, and i showed her a confetti cannon which will be pulled during the first dance and she said oh are you buying one for everyone for outside registry office and i said no and she said no worries in all honesty i had totally forgotten about confetti, so just to be on the safe side i have ordered 30 confetti cannons which the usher can give out and they can be realsed as we walk outside....that way at least some confetti will be used if people do forget...also our venue allows confetti and small confetti cannons so were oki to do it.

I think most of my family will be bringing their own to the wedding anyway, and i really do want the confetti shot so i know i'll get it with them :)

It's probably a good idea to remind close family and friends to bring some for your confetti shot. I think they'd bring it if they knew you really want it xxx
