No I'm just having the traditional men's speeches

I always thought I would end up making a speech at my wedding after the groom speaks as I have always been a confident public speaker and I'm not good at keeping quiet! However, now I think about it, I'm not sure there's anything extra I need to say and I don't know if I will.
What are you all doing? x

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

I am. We have got my grandparents a lord and ladyship as a gift as theres a joke in the family regarding it, and a traditional bunch of flowers for my grandma didnt seem meaningful enough. my grandad is the worst person to buy for ever so this is ideal.

they have helped emotionally and financially so much towards this wedding and i just dont trust anyone to give as much a heartfelt speech as i want, so i'm doing it myself :)

    xx

i think I might - we are doing speeches at the reception when everyone is there, I always feel left out if we miss out on speeches - I also think that because so many people have come for us it would be nice to say something - particularly because I have friends and family coming from overseas so I want to thank them and do a little bit about friendship I think? Who knows! Other half doesn't want to do anything so maybe we share it! :)

I will probably just saying a few thankyous over the mike but not a full blown speech, like some of the others not the worlds most confident public speaker but after I've had a couple of sherberts I will manage a few thankyous, I think lol

Think that's a nice idea mwti, maybe I'll let H2B do proper speech and I'll say a few words in evening. Like that idea! xx

My H2B isn't making a speech. I'm doing it instead, I'm comfortable speaking in public and he hates anything like that. We made a pact when we had been going out for about 6 months that if we ever got married I would do the speech. 6 years later we are sticking to it!

I think we'll both do one. But I want to do one as well, apparently h2b's family think I lean on my H2B too much and can't do anything for myself, but this is what my sil2b told me and I don't think she likes me very much. So I want to prove a point in one way but I also want to thank the rest of his family cause they have been so welcoming and my family barely keep in touch these days.

I didn't make a speech - and in the beginning my husband said he wasn't going to either. The best man (bil) isn't very confident with public speaking so he didn't do one either. I was quite happy with this because tbh I was happy enough with an informal reception without speeches.

In the end though, my dad gave a speech first, which I wasn't really expecting - then hubby had written a great speech and kept it to himself to the big day - was a good surprise.

I left it to them as it felt right without me butting in (couldn't have topped it) - and for once I kept quiet lol.

I'm well known in my family for making speeches at family gatherings so I have a feeling they will demand a speech from me on the day. I may prepare something just in case.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013
The day I marry the man of my dreams!

Not a formal speech, but I will say something as I can guarantee that there will still be something I want to say after all the speeches have been made. I'm a woman after all! Xx

My sister did a speech last year at her wedding, she basically did all the Thank You's so that her husband would have to fill his speech with nice things about her instead lol! I'm not sure if I'll do the same or not, but I certainly wouldn't mind saying a few words.
