    Hi girls,

I am totally stuck about what to do for my hen night. I dont want the night out on the town drinking with L plates thing but I am not saying drink shouldnt be involved lol. I wanted to go to Alton Towers but my girls are not into rollercoasters at all. As well as that I am also totally skint so I cant do my other option of spa and hotel stop over (my bms and pals are skint too)

I just wondered if anyone can think of a fun idea that doesnt cost a lot? If I am honest, I never ever thought about a hen do. I went to a few when I was younger and hated them so now its come to mine I am lost!!

    Please help ladies!!

We went to a local Italian restaurant for my sister-in-laws hen do and there was 25 of us so they gave us a room upstairs to ourselves and put together a fixed price 3 course menu for us all. The Bridesmaid made a 'pin the willie on the man' (it was a picture of my brother so bit werid) game, designer veil using loo roll, making naughty willie balloons, Mr and Mrs game and it was a cheap night out for everyone and really good fun.

millz090 I am thinking of doing just that but at my local, I am in exactly the same position as you Rockabilly chick! That way it shouldn't cost much and as my local is within walking distants from my house my mom can go whenever she wants(she can't drive at night)

Maybe you could do something at your house? Host your own how to make chocolate fancies or something! Have a few vino's and play some games.

Yeah its a good idea. I was a bit negative beforehand as the menu was shocking and on the night the food was nasty but the entertainment was so cheap to do and so much good fun and the girls organised it really well. I did find out a few things to much about my little brother though :o( It is worth speaking to the pub/restaurant and seeing if they will put together a fixed menu for you all as easier to sort out the bill as we knew everyone was £19 but all paid £20 to cover the food for the bride too and makes it easier for the restaurant too as know upfront what everyone is eating xxx

One of my bridesmaid just emailed me with a great idea! She suggested we all stay at hers for a girly sleepover. Booze, munchies and games. She has a cracking size flat and its walking distance from my house too. I am really excited now. Sleeping bags, cheesy movies and games sounds fun to me :-) Yeay!! i am genuinely excited about it now.

what about having a party at your house such as an Ann Summers or pamper party etc. Most of them are free if people send a certain amount of money and they often do games and give the host free gifts. Worth looking into in your area if you want something low key and cheap. xx

I think we are going to go for a house party but I think I'll make up my own games - then I can be more evil hahahaha. I used to work in holiday parks so I know quite a few silly games and I worked abroad as a DJ for a while. I cant wait now. I might even start making a list :-)

    I need a theme.....

If you're having a night in why not hire a butler in the buff and dress up as old ladies? A friend of mine did this for her 30th a couple of weeks ago and it was hilarious. The butler served the food and played some games and we all had to call each other by our granny names x

We're doing something similar, we're all staying at a friend's house where she's getting a mobile beauty therapist to come over and we can have a treatment - massage, manicure, make up etc for £10 each, then we're having an afternoon tea party with silliness - in the evening we're heading into town for a meal and maybe a show and then a sleepover afterwards - totally the way forward I say!

I wasnt looking forward to my hen night at all until she suggested this. Ive always dreaded the L plates and potty thing but I dont mind dressing up in the house if only my friends see me :-)

    I am excited now!!

My bridesmaids did a grand job for mine. They organised a scavenger hunt- they had a series of items that had to be ticked off the list with photographic evidence- some cryptic clues to places of interest, you had to collect signatures of Katherines and Grahams (our names), give a piggy back to a stranger, have a stranger draw a tattoo on you and so on. It was a lot of fun and free! I would recommend having a few drinks first though, some of it was quite embarrassing. :)

When I did Ann Summers, I did a Hen party. lots of alcohol, lots of games and a chance to be as crude as you want. It was a cheap idea, and if you speak to the rep and tell her its a hen party, she should think of lots of fun games for you.

Keep it simple, out of all the hen parties I have been on (and that's a lot now) by far the best ones have been the simple, nice night/weekend away with the girls, a few drinks some nice food and not being dragged around from one pole dancing lesson the next forced fun activity. The exception, entertainment wise, would be a butler in the buff. I seem to have now met quite a few of these guys and its always been great fun. Except the time my friend emma (you know who you are) booked a cheap guy to save some money and he was awful but the proper guys have always been amazing.
Keep it simple don't spend everyone's money on loads of activities that half the group will hate doing just go away with your friends, that all you need. Oh and a naked butler!!! ;-)

I ended up doing a wine and cheese tasting class. I'd googled wine tasting workshops and came up with a place in Cardiff, where I live, that is a cheese shop and advises on what wines and cheeses go together. The other idea I had was a chocolate making class, where you make truffles. You just have to provide a kitchen. MY SIL's hen do was pottery painting, followed by a meal and a few reasonably sensible games, with a mad hatter's tea party the next day.
