The title says it all really - just wondered whether people are writing their own or using traditional ones or have found some samples online etc? :)

Did you get inspiration from anywhere or just your own head? Sounds a silly question, but am afraid I'll sound like a ninny, don't really know what to do!

My partner is going to be writing ours, that will be his contribution to the service as we don't want to go traditional want the words we say to each other to have meaning xx

I think that's why I like the idea, that it's personal and heartfelt. Will have to do a few practice drafts I think, so I sound nice an concise and poetic and not all waffly and embarrassing :)
I am still playing with them but here are mine at the moment. I googled personalised vows and stole little bits and re-worded bits and put my own bits in x
David, I am so lucky today to be marrying my best friend. You truly are the love of my life. You mean everything to me, and I know all of my wishes have been answered and I feel so lucky that all of my dreams have come true.
You have shown me what love truly is. Never before have I met someone as kind, caring, compassionate, and genuinely sincere as yourself.... and you're sexwy too.
Today I promise you my deepest love, my fullest devotion and my tender care, because in you, I have found the one, my soul mate. I promise to be faithful to you, laugh with you, grow with you and to love you with all of my heart. I look forward to the amazing times we will share ahead, and although the future is uncertain, I promise to support you and offer inspiration for all of your future dreams. No matter what we may encounter, we encounter it together. My heart will be your shelter and my arms your home.
As I have given you my hand to hold, I give you my life to keep. I am so proud to be your wife, and I cant wait to share the rest of our lives together.

i am writing my own, but i am particular about this, it drives me mad, personally , when people DESCRIBE thier partner int hier vows, ie since we met etc etc to me vows are that VOWS< youre promises to each other, ie should be things like i promise to, i will, i vow to etc.
just one of those little things that nag me lol

Ooh I see what you mean... I really don't know - I want to keep it short and sweet, that's the only thing I'm sure of so far!!
CommentAuthorJanie
i just plan to write what i want to do when i write mine, ie i promise to laugh with you, love you always, wipe away your tears when you cry, and support you in everything you do,,, that kind of thing

BUT to one person you may just be THE WORLD x x x

I agree with Janie!
We're going to write ours together and probably say the same thing to each other. We also want it to be short and sweet but heart felt and relevant to us and our relationship.
Not gonna be an easy thing to write at all lol but we'll get there!
