hi ladies, just wondering are you buying the confetti for your guests to throw? the last 2 weddings i went to they provided you with confetti, i know some venues dont allow it but ours does so i would like it to be thrown but thinking that people might not take it. x

I would love a basket with natural petal confetti cones, they look gorgeous. they can be quite pricey for what essentially is gone in a less than a minute! I might look at cheaper ways of making one as I am quite taken with them! :-) x

as I don't want confetti thrown at us when we get out of church my mum is providing rice for all guests to through, but because I am asking guests NOT to throw confetti, I feel it's just right that I provide what I want thrown. Last year at OH's cousin wedding we were given confetti by usher

Ooh rice! Properly traditional!! Love the bubble machine ellejaye :D

love the bubbles as well. Well for rice I need to talk to priest first but I am sure he will be happy. In France it's rice and nothing else, or at least it was until I left 4 years ago, very traditional, and I want to bring this little French tradition seeing that I can't celebrate it in my home country and that very little of my family will be with me.

I can understand that, and it's a nice tradition so even better :) I'm going to beddybyes now so I will chat to you all tomorrow I'm sure :) x

That's very traditional rice, apparently confetti come from the Italian word for sweets, so the throw sweets at the bride and groom, would do that but think most of the people I'm with would eat them more that throw them and there's the fact it just a plain waste of sweets haha Or worst case sinario is that people start throwing boiled sweets at u and thats gona hurt pmsl Like I said I dont know yet not as organized as most of u ladies

At the weddings I've been to everybody has taken confetti themselves, however I went to one last year where the groom was a photographer, so he edited his own pictures. With this in mind he asked guests not to throw their own for the first few professional pics as he only wanted the pink confetti that he provided, so that he could edit a black and white photo with the confetti in pink.
If only life could be one long tea break

The last two I've been to I took confetti with me. One provided us with a little box of dried petals to throw but I just threw the stuff I had bought and keep the other packet in my underwear drawer now.

Lol that would be a sight! :)
I thought rice wasn't allowed anymore because it kills birds? Xx
CommentAuthortillyturtle
are you meant to supply confetti shouldnt people bring their own? oh no what if i walk outside and everyones saying well come on tilly weres the confetti
CommentAuthorMrsCaitiClarke
I love the idea of confetti, although due to personal preference we're asking for it not be thrown in the church car-park and for everyone to wait until we get to the park for photos. I've made ours though with a tiny heart hole-punch and lots of different pink coloured card. It's a labour of love but it looks gorgeous. Xx

Lol customs would be a bit confused if they looked in her bags! That's nice of her to bring enough for all :) Xx

Im thinking of buying 2 baskets and filling them with confetti then my 2 youngest bridesmaids will go round to the guests so they can take a handful .I always find that there is too much in a box so thought this would be the easier option and less mess lol, any guests who have brought their own can throw that x

just putting a link on my wall for what seem like a good site for confettii
we are hoping to make our own confetti cones with rose petals in an old style basket but just for the girls. looks like it may be pricy to buy the petals tho as its about 20 quid for 2litres and no idea if that will get me 25 cones?

I found an ebay seller called "gone*with*the*wind*confetti" who sells personalised confetti (bride and grooms name on) in all manner of shapes and the writing in the colour of your choice. It's £2.49 per 100 packet, with free postage. I will be ordering some of them in heart shape with our names in Burgundy. Just then need to get some baskets or make some cones x

I went to a friends wedding a few weeks ago and completely forgot to bring some confetti! Luckily they had confetti cones, the pictures looked amazing with everyone throwing confetti :) xx

is it best to have freeze dried petals or just air dried. Air dried are much cheaper but dont look as pretty but are only being thrown as confetti so does this matter? I am debating which I use to fill cones and I dont want anything to stain either

i have air dried ( i did them) the colours are lovely and rich
did you just leave them on the side? Thinking of red now so this wont affect the colours running on dresses etc will it?

Also, how long did it take to do your own? I am playing about with purple ones now just to see how they look. I may even be able to merge them with the red as they are dark purple and doubt anyone will notice rather than just waste them. Looks like if this works I will be buying lots of flowers to make the house look pretty and then take the petals off a few days later. The house will smell nice haha
