Wedding Forum - They came, I'm fuming!! **UPDATE**...

I ordered the girl's dresses off ebay a couple of weeks ago and they arrived this morning. We were so excited, opened the parcel and got them out to try on. 2 of them were perfect, well, not quite what I was expecting but the girls loved them so no arguments from me. The other 2, I cried! One of them had a huge snag in the material and the other had an enormous black mark on the skirt :( The worst bit was we didn't even need to take the dresses out of the packets to see they were wrecked, whoever packed them must have known.

I'm so upset, wish I'd just gone to the sales instead. What makes it worse is that I got crippled on postage (they've come from America) and no chuffing way did it cost that much to post them out. Live and learn but there's no way I'd suggest using this seller to anyone :(

oh no! can you get a refund on them from ebay? This is why I'm dubious about buying things that come from abroad

Yeah don't let them get away with it, America or not they shouldn't send out things out that aren't right. Good Luck :)

I'm opening a dispute with ebay and paypal. I re-read the item description and they were described as shimmer satin, turned out to be polyester, it also says they're fully lined, they're so not!
The only truthful thing they put in the description was 'new without tags' I'm beyond seething. Will name and shame on my wall, I'd hate for anyone on here to get duped :(

You will be fine with Ebay but just be aware you will have to pay to return the items and you cannot necessarily claim this back. The Ebay standard will be to refund the cost and original postage. Just make sure you get proof of postage so they cannot claim you have not returned them. Good luck!

ryhope - when I contacted the seller I did actually say that I didn't expect them to pay what it cost me to return it, I know IF I'm forced to open a dispute that's what Ebay would say, but thanks for the tip ;) xxx

Just shows it pays to be a bit cautious. The silver lining is the girls get to go dress hunting again so they'll be chuffed :)

be careful because even they display an American number and prices most time they are based in China was considering one of these for my wedding dress but thought it be too risky....... and could not deal with the dissqapointment

I didn't have to sign for them but I've already emailed the seller to say I received them so I can't pretend they didn't come. Going to open a dispute with ebay if it doesn't get sorted, the dresses are faulty and I have photographic evidence of that, plus they don't match the description, ebay (theoretically) should wipe the floor with them.

It wouldn't be paypal that needed to deal with fake goods, it's ebay themselves BUT it only applies if they state it's the genuine article OR they use the brand name in the description but don't state it's a replica

Well, got an email from them asking for pictures of the faults, which is fair enough. I've remained firm and said I want a refund and if I don't get it then I'm going to war with her. I'm still so bl00dy angry, want to knock the silly cow from pillar to post *grrrrr*

Ladies, take my advice - do NOT buy any of you wedding/party dresses off ebay, more trouble than it's worth :'(

Maybe an overreaction on my part momari but I seriously wouldn't recommend buying dresses as important as a wedding dress or bm/fg dress internationally over ebay now :(

She's agreed to refund the cost of the dresses plus original shipping costs which is excellent news!

The cheeky mare had the nerve to try and blame her suppliers for sending poor quality dresses even though they came direct from HER warehouse, then she had the cheek to accuse me of allowing the girls to wear the dresses otherwise I wouldn't have seen the faults. Once the money is safely back in my paypal account I'm going to make a formal complaint to Ebay, I fear if I do it now and they approach her she'll try to withold the refund.
I'm still really angry with her BUT I got the result I was after so can't grumble too much!

thats so awful, glad your getting somewhere with it now tho, fingers crossed the money makes it back to you and ebay can do something about her dodgy goods xx
