    Hi

We are looking at photographers and quotes. Can I just ask how much people are paying for photographers and what it includes? How did people choose their photographers - was it the pictures or the person etc?

    Thanks

We are £1400 for an engagement shoot, box of photos, all photos on a high res CD and and post wedding shoot for the more arty shots when back from honeymoon.

ALTHOUGH - was talking to another photographer at a wedding fayre the other day and he said he would do 200 photos in an album that has our names embossed on it, 2 identical but smaller parents albums and a CD of all the images for £985!! which I think is an ace price.

    decisions decisions...........

I can't believe how much some of them charge.

We have found one pretty cheap one

is £350 for full wedding day coverage
12x18 albulm with 20 pages of photos
    30 5x7 prints
1 hour bride and groom portrait session on the wedding day
disc with full set of high resolution images in both colour and black and white

from what others have said this seems to be very reasonable

I have paid £350 for 2 professional photographers up to the end of the meal, with a disk with all the images and a copyright certificate so i use images myself without printing problems or not been able to publish them etc.

I icked her cos i knew she did great job at matts cousins wedding....like how she worked and she showed us all her images and how good they were.

That is the thing - I have seen their photo portfolio but how do you know they will do a good job on the day. It isn't the kind of thing that can be redone. Just a bit concerned that they might be tooo cheap.

395 for ours, up until the first dance, everyphoto she takes on discs so could be 700photos and an album full of photos i think 30 to 50. Practice photoshoot. Copyright rights over to us so we can do what we like with them.

Shes fairly new though only been proffesional for 2.5years. she is good though

Our photographer....karen didnt have a portfolio of work, she just showed us loads of photos (they covered her front room lol), an howed us the thankyou letters. I wouldnt settle for just a few images. Mines on FB so constantly updating her pics aswell :). I suppose in that sense we fell really lucky, knowing how she operated.

I dont think the one you have found is too cheap though, but if ure not confident then i wouldnt go with them. Have you heard any reviews cos thats generally the best way of finding out if they are any good. My advice is do a bit of research and find out what other couples have said.

they all vary loads. We ended up spending £1350 for a full day shoot right up to the reception and on into the night. Unlimited photos and all prints and copywright on a disk. Plus an engagement shoot. Compared to some that's expensive but I know the guy and he does photos for club nights and festivals too so does some really great arty and repotage shots (the ones where people don't realise the camera is there so they are more natural). Good luck x

my friend is doing them for us. she's done fine art at college and has a really good eye fordetail and did photography as part of her course at college. i've seen her work and the composition is ace! and she's doing it for the cost of the hotel room for the night before! she's also doing my make up for me and i don't acutally have to buy any!! she's building up her portfolio atm

she's also doing an engagement shoot for Neil and Me on the 28th so as soon as the piccy's are done i will put them up here for people to look at!!!

she has mentioned to me she will do engagment shoots and family portraits and things for free (to help build up her portfolio) all she asks is for petrol money. if you want her details give me a shout! x

We haven't found one yet, been doing lots of research and getting prices though!!!!

In Fact - just got an email from some guy who said he will charge £450 which is for 2 hours photography, proofs on-line and on a CD, and a 20 page 6" x 8" album chosen from the proofs. This is only for weddings that are out of the normal peak summer season, but October falls into this category. Does that sound any good???

My photographer is chargin £525 for 2 photographers from both bride an groom preps up until first dance. You get CD with all images on at least 200. DVD with menu / titles etc. 200 4by6 photos (like proofs). You can then buy an album separate which is story book style for £190 with around 150ish photos

Please, please consider paying your photographer more rather than less.

It is the only thing you'll have from your wedding in years to come, you are creating your first family heirloom, make it the best you can, the rest of your wedding will be gone the day after, but not your photos.

Won't bore you with details again, I've posted lots on this topic because I see so many rubbish wedding photos done by in-experienced and cheap photographers.

we havent started looking into this yet, but have discussed it at great lenght, we are actually very good friends with photographers and the cheapest option would be to ask them, but i have a few reservations with using them. we also thought about buying our own video camera and asking people to use that, we will prob end up with loads of rubbish on it but might also capture some real natural shots

I am looking at photographers now but they are so expensive in Aberdeen - the cheapest one for full day coverage - from getting ready to first danec - has been about £1,695!With the most expensive being £3,800!!!! I would be expecting gold plated photographs for that price.
My H2B and i can't agree on a style either i prefer less posey pictures and more candid but he wants standard line ups etc!
There seems to be so many photographers to choose from its all a bit stressful!

We chose her because i liked her work, see was easy to get on with and she has worked with our venue a few times. I think it is worth paying the money for one becasue it your memorys from the day.

our photographer will cost us around £1000.
that included full coverage all day (11-22:00)
    400 photographs
a story book with another 75 pictures
a cd with all pictures on it
    plus 3 parent albums

we found him through a wedding directory and emailed him about 9 at night, i got an instant reply and met him a few days later. he then asked us if we would like to meet at our venue to look round and we hadnt even agreed he was our photographer yet. he is such a nice guy which is why we chose him.

We are going to see our first photographer tomorrow night. We picked him after looking at his work on the web 'cos we liked the really relaxed style of pohotography. Not sure if we'll end up picking him or not, depends how tomorrow goes! - but if we do go with him we'll be paying £1500 for full day coverage (8 hours), a story book album of 300 pictures, a high res dvd of all the images taken on the day, an online page for guests to view/buy the pictures & an engagement shoot before the wedding at our choice of location.

I thnk the price of photographers varies a lot though depending on the area that you live & the packages that they do.

We are paying £999 for two photographers which includes from getting ready until the end of the night and high res images on a disk. They do offer albums etc but we can make our own loads cheaper. Photographers tend to vary in price depending on their experience etc but too be honest you are better judging them by their portfolio rather than price. I've seen some very good photographers that don't charge the earth and some shocking ones that try and fleece you for everything you have. You really do need to study their work to determine how much they are worth to you.

Our photograher is a friend of Steves, he teaches photography all over the country. I dont want all different things ie album etc....I just want him to be there from the preparation stage to the first dance and to take as many photos as possible and to have the cd's of them, so we can do what we want with them. Hes just asking for £75 to cover expenses as he lives in Wales and will be travelling down to Cornwall. xx

My company is chargin £65.00 per hour . simple as. but we just get the cd with all the pics on so we can print them off as we see fit - a gallery on their website for other people to look at and a 'storybook' of the wedding day ... oh yeah and £10.00 towards his travel expenses:D

I paid just under £500 for mine. 2 photographers, 4 hours coverage, dvd with rights to print all pictures and start of at where i was getting ready.

I picked them firstly because of their website. when they turned up to see us they were extreamly relaxed, albums where really nice and we just got on....

The thing i found was that the photographer is the hardest thing to choose as you have to trust them to get it right. its not like buying a cake and knowing the finished product.... witht he photographers you only know what you got once it was done...

its worth while seeing if they do a pre wedding shoot or asking if they can meet you at the venue to take some pictures.... that way you can relax with them and they can gove you some tips on how the stnad, look beofre the day xx
